Some revisions
[edit]- Hekmatyar-contrary to speculation, and in spite of his nickname-was not an "engineer," and did not even graduate from Kabul University.
- The effectiveness of Hezb-e-Islami-and by extension, Hekmatyar-in fighting the Soviets is arguable. Most respected sources that I've consulted have claimed that he killed many more Afghans-mostly, if not exclusively, civilians-than Soviets by a large factor. Not to mention the fact that he has been credibly accused of collaboration with the USSR at times during the Soviet-Afghan War.
- Maybe someone could flesh out this article with more (reliable) information.
