Sjónvarp Føroya does not exist any longer, Sjónvarp Føroya (national Faroese television) and Útvarp Føroya (national Faroese radio) merged into Kringvarp Føroya some years ago. I think that this page should be moved to the page Kringvarp Føroya (which is already created, but it was a redirect page, which pointed to this one, I took away the redirect, but I don't have permission to delete it. I think that it is not possible to move this one to Kringvarp Føroya without deleting the empty page with the same title first, or what? Kind regards EileenSanda (talk) 17:07, 10 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well, as far as I can tell (I can't read Faroese), the TV side is still called "Sjónvarp Føroya...I think. The TV side is listed as "Sjónvarp" on the top of their website. I wish there was a Faroese/English translator so I could confirm all this. - NeutralhomerTalk22:13, 10 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The website is this one: http://www.kringvarp.fo/ Sjónvarp means TV in Faroese, útvarp means radio, these words don't change, but earlier there were two different companies (public), the public radio was called Útvarp Føroya (established in 1957) and the public television was called Sjónarp Føroya, established in 1984. Then a minister got the idea that everything would be better and cheaper, if these two companies were merged, so he did, the new public broadcasting company was established on 1 January 2005 with the new name Kringvarp Føroya (Faroese Broadcasting or something like that, it was a new word). Everything did not get better, in fact it got worse, they have just sacked some people and have stopped sending radio 24 hours as they used to, they have cut down everywhere, both radio and TV, what a shame. I know this because I am Faroese and I live here. Yes, you are right, there is no possibility for i.e. Google translate from the Faroese language into another language, so it must be very difficult for non-Faroese speakers to understand anything from a Faroese website. I can figure out just enough to understand what I am looking at, but beyond that, I am lost. :) Since the Sjónvarp Føroya article is primarily for the television side, would you be able to create a section for the radio side after the article is moved to Kringvarp Føroya? I will work on getting the article moved to the new location. Take Care...NeutralhomerTalk00:26, 11 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, since Kringvarp Føroya is a redlink, I can move that and will do so now. Please stand by... - NeutralhomerTalk00:29, 11 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The page has been moved to Kringvarp Føroya. Please feel free to create a section for Útvarp Føroya. Thanks...NeutralhomerTalk00:32, 11 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That's great, thanks a lot :) I will try to improve the article, but not now, I need to sleep, but tomorrow. Kind regards EileenSanda (talk) 00:49, 11 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I did write a bit now after all, and added some headlines. But it could be even better. I will write more later. EileenSanda (talk) 01:14, 11 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Looks good for now. :) Glad I could help. :) Let me know if you need further assistance as I will be glad to help further. - NeutralhomerTalk03:05, 11 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
