More history needed? I am researching what seems to be the only British/German spy exchange of WWII in January 1945. I now have a mass of documents from the Swiss Archives at Berne [1] and it seems that Kreuzlingen was the point of exchange of the two spies, but also of trainloads of Allied and Axis PoWs and some civilians who had been in the 'wrong' country since 1940. It seems to me that there is scope for someone to research Konstanz/Kreuzlingen as a point of contact and exchange between Germany and Switzerland. As far as I can see it was much more important in this traffic than Geneva or Pontarlier, and the page Kreuzlingen railway station is probably not the right place for it.
