Fair use rationale for Image:Komodo py.jpg
[edit]Image:Komodo py.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

PerlDev Kit is not same as Komodo
[edit]This article is redirected from PerlDev Kit(PDK) but this page is for Activestate Komodo IDE. These are 2 different applications altogether. They must have different pages. AKY 01:11, 19 October 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Amityadavigib (talk • contribs)
Is it tri-licensed? Or only MPL 1.1 (and not MPL 2.0)
[edit]See my edit http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Comparison_of_integrated_development_environments&diff=555202300&oldid=554601900 and http://svn.openkomodo.com/openkomodo/view/openkomodo/branches/8.0.x/LICENSE.txt Dispite what lots of pages on the Internet say, I can't see from the source code or on the ActiveState website any mention of anything else than MPL 1.1. If I'm wrong can you update the two wikipedia pages (and the source code repository)? Or if they have upgraded to MPL 2.0 (it's based on Mozilla source code that has since dropped tri-licensing as MPL 2.0 is GPL-compatible) then the source code should reflect that and 1.1 be dropped from MPL in wikipedia pages. - There's also the ActiveState® Komodo® IDE License Agreement which should be mentioned GitR (talk) 11:57, 23 July 2015 (UTC)

@Wburrow:
can you explain why you dislike this helpful link ?

- Per WP:ELMINOFFICIAL there should only be one link to ActiveState, which is already provided. A "downloads" link does not seem appropriate for an encyclopedia. Wburrow (talk) 21:42, 6 August 2024 (UTC)
- downloads are impeded by a circuitous series of click-throughs

- I see your point, and I've read through the guide a couple times, but I'm not sure if the link meets the guidelines for inclusion or not. So I opened a discussion on the External link noticeboard to get an answer. Wburrow (talk) 17:08, 7 August 2024 (UTC)
