"Political career" section - (New) National Party membership?
[edit]There are various problems here. Most of the statements in the section are unverified. The "Who's Who Kobus" links are dysfunctional and lead to an apparently unrelated webpage with Thai script.
The introductory of this section reads as follows: "He has been involved in politics in the Western Cape for many years, first serving as councillor and mayor in Rawsonville from 1995 to 2000 and then again as a Democratic Alliance councillor from 2000 to 2006, where he was nominated as the Mayoral Candidate for the 2006 Election."
Why is there no mention of the political party that Marais represented prior to joining the Democratic Alliance? There is reason to assume that we are talking about the National Party / New National Party here, which explains the sketchy character of Malais early political biography? Is this an attempt to misinform the public about Malais' earlier political affiliations? CraigoGiarco (talk) 09:42, 12 May 2023 (UTC)
