I removed the 'citation needed' on the sentence that describes the range of equipment that is used, as it was silly. The references at the bottom of the page all give enough examples, with pictures, plans, schematics etc.
Photos
[edit]I removed the lovely photo of San-Francisco because the caption on the photo indicates that it was taken from a dirigible, not a kite. So we need some more examples of photos taken from kites. It would also be good to have some photos of kite cameras and stabilizing mechanisms. Regards, Ben Aveling 09:53, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
- I have replaced this image as it was taken from a kite (click on the image for details). I agree that some extra photos would help the article. Beechhouse (talk) 15:49, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
- According to text in the image, it was taken "From Lawrence Captive Airship". I've updated the wikipedia commons page. Sorry, Ben Aveling 11:34, 22 December 2007 (UTC)
- The Lawrence Captive Airship was the name given by Lawrence to the large camera and balancing device used to take the photos. Probably the best background on the image can be found at:
- American Heritage Detail on the image itself
- 2006 re-shoot by kite by Scott Haefner
- 2006 re-shoot by helicopter using a replica of Lawrence's camera —Preceding unsigned comment added by Beechhouse (talk • contribs) 09:27, 25 December 2007 (UTC)
- Cool! We really ought to say that somewhere... Cheers, Ben Aveling 11:20, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

My antivirus program (Bitdefender) gives an error message on this link:
. nl/index . php?title=Category:Jargon KAP jargon explained (its not possible to click on this one because I added extra spaces)
Literally, Bitdefender says:
"BitDefender 2010
This web page has been blocked by BitDefender Antivirus Real-time Protection!
The web page blocked by BitDefender included objects that were either infected or likely to be infected with a virus. Your system has NOT been infected."
Maybe someone with more knowledge/experience with this kind of things has take a more profound look at this... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.96.44.150 (talk) 06:47, 25 May 2010 (UTC)
Commercial use
[edit]The last sentence saying that "attempts to commercialise KAP have so far been largely unsuccessful" sort of asks for a reference. While probably true, I know of two local businesses (and I haven't been searching much) offering "aerial imagery of any place" and list KAP among their other methods (paraglider, helicopter, airplane, etc.) (Balrog-kun (talk) 22:53, 7 January 2011 (UTC))
