Fair use rationale for Image:KingfisherAirlinesLogo.gif

[edit]

Image:KingfisherAirlinesLogo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 21:53, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Kingfisher Airlines Frequent Flyer Information

[edit]

I would like to know why the information related to Kingfisher Airlines frequent flyer program was removed by User:Gnanapiti. It was not promotional. Every airline has a frequent flyer program associated with it & should be a part of the encyclopedia. You can check Mileage Plus, Krisflyer etc which are frequent flyer programs of United Airlines and Singapore Airlines respectively. Also check the airline pages & you will find frequent flyer information.

Please explain why the frequent flyer information should not be included.

WikiProject class rating

[edit]

This article was automatically assessed because at least one WikiProject had rated the article as start, and the rating on other projects was brought up to start class. BetacommandBot 18:29, 9 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tone of article

[edit]

The overview of the article needs a rewrite. This sounds more like an advertisement. Sahasranaman T/C 16:26, 23 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The entire article does sound too promotional and seems like it is written by someone affliated with the company itself or someone with an egoistic self-investment in India and Indian business. In constrast to the factual consistency of article pages for other airlines, there is an excess of statements that are tentative and idealistic overview of future plans for Kingfisher Airlines. It would be greatly appreciated if someone other than the current author with knowledge in the airline who is more neutral and less self-invested could re-write the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.70.212.100 (talk) 16:09, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

IFE Status

[edit]

There is a statement that says KIngfisher is among few other airlines that have PTVs and AVOD on all aicraft. I feel this statement is incorrect. It does not have PTV in its ATR aircraft, although it has a simple IFE. Please edit this very misleading statement. Only Emirates, Virgin Atlantic, Singapore Airlines and Malaysia Airlines have PTVs in all sectors and on all aircraft. 86.96.226.84 (talk) 13:40, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

just want to know how's the oversea employment of the cabin crew in kingfisher. As i know their HR department did the interview with oversea applicants. When they will start their training? and how's the contract? 3 year non-renewable? no one know as their HR said really depends on the Indian Government. .. is it a good choices to be one of Kingfisher's cabin crew if it is not a permenant job? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 116.49.44.40 (talk) 13:12, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Airbus A340 sale to Arik

[edit]

Just a note, I have removed a reference about three A340s being sold by Kingfisher to Arik. Please note this Airbus press release which indicates that Airbus have sold the aircraft not Kingfisher.[1]. MilborneOne (talk) 20:30, 15 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah but the aircraft were made for Kingfisher, and painted in Kingfisher colors. If anything they got Airbus to take the aircraft back before delivery. These guys can barely run the routes they have forget adding any new routes or aircraft. This is what happens when you have NON airline people trying to run an Airline. It only gets you so far till you realize you actually need people who KNOW what they are doing not MBA's who pretend they know what they are doing. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.4.233.212 (talk) 09:26, 13 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed the Arik information again which has been questioned by User:Druid.raul. The Arik Air aircraft were originally allocated to Kingfisher but that is not the same thing as Kingfisher being involved in their sale to other customers. The Airbus press releases do not indicate any involvement by Kingfisher in the Arik sale. [2][3] MilborneOne (talk) 10:12, 13 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Should we merge Kingfisher Red Article in this article?

[edit]

Kingfisher Airlines website mentions Kingfisher Red as a Class and NOT a airline. Kingfisher Red does'nt have its own website nor livery or anything. Its just a Low-cost Class for domestic travel.
I suggest merging the Kingfisher Red article with Kingfisher Airlines article as its creating confusion. i mean if there are separate Kingfisher Airlines and Kingfisher Red articles then Kingfisher Airlines article should not inculde Kingfisher Red's fleet OR we should merge KF and KF Red articles as Air Deccan/Simplifly Deccan is gone in either ways. (Druid.raul (talk) 13:48, 4 May 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Yes, please! It has been one airline in all aspects for some time now. Jasepl (talk) 19:03, 4 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Does anybody have a source that Kingfisher Red (DN/DKN) is still not operating or will not operate in the future as it is still listed in the latest Flight Directory with no aircraft but 46 A320s and 1 A321 on order. MilborneOne (talk) 19:25, 4 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
There is no Kingfisher Red Website, No Kingfisher Red Livery and the DN/DKN Code has been scrapped and now Kingfisher Red uses Kingfisher Airlines' IT/KFR Code. I think thats enough proof that Kingfisher and Kingfisher Red are One airline. On the Kingfisher Airlines website, THERE ARE NO SEPARATE DESTINATIONS for Kingfisher Red. Kingfisher Red is just a class for low-cost domestic travel, ITS NOT A AIRLINE (Druid.raul (talk) 13:12, 6 May 2009 (UTC))[reply]

London service cancelled?

[edit]

that is what the article says but its uncited and the destination wp hasn't been changed. Still i'm assuming its true so I will make the changes until I hear otherwise. 66.220.124.56 (talk) 22:27, 3 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Financial situation

[edit]

From a certain aviation forum: "Thus, in 2005 you started as an airline, in 2008 you buy a budget carrier and in 2011 you dismantle the budget carrier. What will they do in 2014? Dismantle the entire airline?" --> of course this is meant as a joke, but how realistic is it, since the financial situation of Kingfisher is 'not very good' at the moment? Schalkcity (talk) 18:21, 30 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Another joke I read;

Going around in circles?????
- Started as LCC
- Moved to "value carrier"
- Moved to "Full Service"
- Moved to "Five Star airline"
- Moved to hybrid of "5 star + LCC"
- Moved to "confused airline" where line between LCC & legacy carrier got diminished.
- Moving back to Legacy carrier.

Financial Turmoil

[edit]

Kingfisher airlines is in a major financial crisis and is on the verge of being defunct. Can someone edit the article so that this point is made clear throughout - and isn't just mentioned in the final section. Jer.dv (talk) 08:38, 12 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

We already have a seperate article Kingfisher Airlines financial crisis and an over large section in the middle of the article. MilborneOne (talk) 20:00, 13 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Seat recline

[edit]
The domestic Kingfisher First seats have a 48 inch seat pitch and a 126 degree seat recline

What? Why would a seat recline to where the passenger goes beyond 90 degrees of recline and is 36 degrees upside down? -Rolypolyman (talk) 12:28, 27 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

90 degrees means the seat back is upright. So 126 degrees means 36 degrees past the vertical. Trinidade 14:52, 27 March 2013 (UTC)

Kingfisher Airlines Employees

[edit]

A seperate section needs to be created on all activities of kingfisher airlines including its employees.

Before he left for london, all the salaries of abroad employees was cleared. However, all the employees within India, have not got salary in tune of Rs 300 Crore[1].

Some of them were fortunate enough to get a job somewhere else. But others were not so fortunate[2]. They were forced to take up low paid jobs. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 49.35.117.221 (talk) 12:02, 3 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

There are several news reports which indicate that the Kingfisher Airlines employees continue to suffer.[3][4][5][6][7][8] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 49.35.117.221 (talk) 12:23, 3 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure we need to mention this, many former employees of companies find themselves in similar situations. MilborneOne (talk) 13:31, 3 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

In human action (of non payment of dues) must be reported.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 2405:204:9090:3130:0:0:42F:10B1 (talk) 06:48, 4 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I presume it has been reported to the relevant Indian authorities but is nothing to do with wikipedia. MilborneOne (talk) 11:40, 4 February 2018 (UTC)

Wikipedia should be reporting a total unbiased and genuine information. However a cursory look at the Kingfisher Airlines, (in form of the contents)

   1 History
       1.1 Early years
       1.2 Failure
   2 Destinations
       2.1 Codeshare agreements
   3 Fleet
   4 Services
       4.1 Cabin
           4.1.1 Domestic
           4.1.2 International
       4.2 In-flight entertainment
       4.3 Loyalty programme
       4.4 Cargo
           4.4.1 Kingfisher Xpress
       4.5 Kingfisher Lounge
   5 Awards and achievements
   6 Accidents and incidents
   7 See also
   8 References
   9 External links

Shows that only GOOD THINGS are given in the article of Kingfisher Airlines, while any negative information is not presented (except for the accidents and incidents). Therefore, some information regarding the Kingfisher employees must be placed in the article. Of-course Wikipedia cannot act as a police/investigating agency. However, since wikipedia is a encylopedia, it should cover ALL informations. Well its my take on this.... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 49.35.111.241 (talk) 15:56, 4 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please sign your posts, thanks. MilborneOne (talk) 16:42, 4 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
We dont add good or bad things to articles for the sake of it we only cover information that is noteworthy of an encyclopedia. People not getting paid is a fairly common thing to happen and is not unusual or noteworthy for inclusion (I think I am starting to repeat myself). MilborneOne (talk) 16:51, 4 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Are there any generalized directions which are noteworthy? I fear that in the name of being an information sharing resource, only good things are getting covered here while actual serious incidents get hidden/dismissed. If non payment of dues was a normal issue/incident, then why were so many newspapers reporting this matter?

What I additionally fear is that to every article there is a pro and against lobby always supporting/rejecting any genuine information from getting passed or getting it rejected. Of course intention is not to hurt hurt you or anyone in this. But just a comment. Ntu129 (talk) 14:40, 26 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Force India

[edit]

Not only did Kingfisher Airlines sponsor the Force India F1 Team, but Vijay was the co-owner of the team, so surely we must mention it, right? --Jamo62 (talk) 10:12, 31 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
