Barry Deeprose, a founding member of PTS, notes that Pink Triangle Services (now known as Kind Space) was borne from several members of Gays of Ottawa, using funds amassed from gay group dances that the Gays of Ottawa association oversaw. Gays of Ottawa took out their charitable aspects in order to achieve charitable status for this new organization, and thereby it became the first gay organization in Canada to be granted charitable status. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Olabisi01 (talk • contribs) 14:42, 26 January 2023 (UTC)

Add text: I have had the privilege of being associated with PTS from the beginning and it remains close to my heart. There is no doubt in my mind that it continues to provide much-needed services to the gay, lesbian, and bisexual community.
In 1984 NDP had won the Ottawa Centre seat that year in a close race, due in part to the queer community’s support. This aided in the creation of the government program that first funded Pink Triangle Services, as they wanted to give back to the community that won them their seat.[1] MBreezeB (talk) 16:17, 31 January 2024 (UTC)
