Conflicting News Stories

[edit]

There are conflicting news stories about what happened and what the teens were doing at the time of the shooting. This first-person account is what is reflected in the current version of this article: http://netnebraska.org/article/news/810620/remembering-vivian-strong However, this article in the Omaha World Herald says that the teens were watching a police investigation of a robbery? This seems unlikely. https://www.omaha.com/news/crime/at-forum-on-race-relations-former-omaha-police-chief-advocates-training-on-proper-use-of/article_39b9d08a-d5f9-5b7c-975e-3285c77e4b17.html Bridges2Information (talk) 17:44, 26 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Movie star mother

[edit]

According to https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hedy_Lamarr, the policeman was the estranged son of the inventor and actress Hedy Lamarr, although maybe it's not important to this article. Elseware (talk) 09:27, 24 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This information is already included in this article. Bridges2Information (talk) 17:13, 24 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Mother: Casey or Kasie

[edit]

Although some sources spell her mother's name as Casey, other sources spell it Kasie. An obituary for her son, in 2021, spells her name Kasie, so I'm changing the spelling to Kasie. Bridges2Information (talk) 23:12, 29 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Photo of Vivian Strong

[edit]

The photo on this page, https://www.27east.com/arts/the-life-and-legacy-of-vivian-strong-1679366/, was widely used in national coverage of the story at the time and does not include source information. It's the only photo of Vivian I've found on the web, as well. Is it possible to use this photo? I assume it's from her parents, both of whom have passed away. Not sure how to get a photo or copyright clearance. Bridges2Information (talk) 18:05, 30 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A photo that was widely used in newspaper articles in 1969 has been inserted, copyright "Wikipedia:No-Free Content" for English Wikipedia only. Bridges2Information (talk) 21:36, 15 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Shooting of vs Killing of?

[edit]

Is there any evidence that Shooting of is a common name? I'm thinking Killing of may be more appropriate, since the fact she was shot isn't as important as the fact she died. Valereee (talk) 16:43, 17 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I've done so. Valereee (talk) 17:29, 20 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
