Black Lives Matter?

[edit]

Tony McDade's death hasn't really been taken up by Black Lives Matter because of his gender identity. Shouldn't the template be removed from this article? TONY MCDADE ( BLACK TRANSMAN DIES) AND THE MEDIA GOES MUTE --2601:C4:C300:1BD0:708E:2510:279C:4124 (talk) 18:31, 6 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

https://blacklivesmatter.com/search/Tony+McDade/ yields "Sorry, no results were found." --2601:C4:C300:1BD0:708E:2510:279C:4124 (talk) 18:44, 6 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • One of the BLM founders has specifically referenced Tony McDade on her twitter feed.[1] And BLM events in Tallahassee have been including McDade's name among the dead.[2] There are more news references out there on this. I wouldn't limit the search to the blacklivesmatter.com site. It isn't very comprehensive. Do a search for Ahmaud Arbery on there and you'll also get zero hits. — Preceding unsigned comment added by OrdinaryDecent (talkcontribs) 15:05, 17 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Boxing information

[edit]

I was going to delete the information regarding McDade's boxing background since it seems unrelated to the shooting and the article isn't providing any sort of general biography of the participants. Any reason why we should keep it?OrdinaryDecent (talk) 21:29, 26 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Renaming to 'Killing of Tony McDade'

[edit]
  • Support - Part of WikiProject Death to create more consistent naming conventions around deaths per WP:DEATHS. 'Shooting of...' 'Stabbing of...' etc. should only be used when the person in question did not die. Combefere ❯❯❯ Talk 22:54, 22 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
