Notability tag

[edit]

The subject of this article appears to have been featured in more than one reputable source. The topic seems notable to me. --Harris195622 (talk) 00:21, 27 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I agree.--BabbaQ (talk) 06:48, 27 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, but this seems like a WP:1E situation to me, regardless of the coverage. ~Anachronist (talk) 20:52, 27 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
WP:1E does not apply here. Plenty of sustained and continued coverage. TV shows have covered this subject etc.--BabbaQ (talk) 21:23, 27 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Google Gnews search comes up with plenty of coverage of this person this year alone.--BabbaQ (talk) 21:25, 27 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately, that coverage has not yet made it into the article, so it looks like this person is notable for only a single event. As a result the page has been moved from a biography of Jennifer Servo to an event about the Killing of Jennifer Servo. This changes the type of article being written from a biography to a crime article. Although the general rule is to cover this as as an event, rather than as a person, there is a caveat to this that "if media coverage of both the event and the individual's role grow larger, separate articles may become justified." So the question arises: Is this person notable because she was killed, or because she was a notable reporter before she was killed? Based on the article this is uncertain and I think it should be discussed further. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 23:59, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
