Someone should add a note on the Lawrence, Kansas rock band Kill Creek [1].

Rock Band

[edit]

I believe the comment regarding the band being named after the other location is incorrect. I corresponded with Kill Creek band member Scott Born in 1996 who stated that the band was named after the Osborne County location named Kill Creek.

Origin of name unverified

[edit]

"Kill Creek was named after the creek that it sits on, which was named after an Indian massacre that occurred there in the 1860s." ← Can this story of a Native American massacre be verified? This doesn't have a source and was probably fabricated by someone who doesn't know the name's origin. Families who claimed the land at Kill Creek in the 1800s were Dutch immigrants. The Dutch word "kill" is translated as "creek". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.102.249.134 (talkcontribs)
