Khabab in Arabic (خبب) its a town located in southern Syria in the Valley Huran , The old name of the town is Abiba is a Greek word meaning a plain Green grass, and Away from the capital Damascus (30)M in the south,. There are four churches in the khabab , two of them are very old churches where built a 1000 years ago,and there is a cathedral and a convent of Sisters of Love (Albeznson). at the time the people of khabab known as (abiba) they used to worshiped and prayed for a God called (tika) and he is a Greek God. in the old temple there is graving on the east wall of the old town wrote on it ( for the sake of us and immorality our Emperor (Marcus Antonius Siveros) and protection from the evil spirits)>
the population at the moment inside the town is 10,000 and outside around 40,000 they are all living outside Syria, most of them are scattered between,France, USA, Brazil, and Australia. the reson of the migration is the troubles in the middle east and the control of the Badwain community most of their lands.that was the reson for the miss trust of most of the population.
the population of khabab they follow the Greek catholic.
The popular language is Arabic and beside that language the people speaking French and the original language of the church is Greek, now a days they are very interested in the English language.
