Etymology of Kettlethorpe
[edit]How old is the name Kettlethorpe? Is it possibly related to the Parisii Tribe? Parisii means 'kwarjo' in proto-Celtic. It has been conjectured by linguists to mean 'kettle'. 'Kw' became 'p', in the form of 'Parjo', or 'people of the kettle'. If that’s true, this would be evidence of the Parisii being related to the Belgae. Cassiparisii (talk) 04:50, 20 June 2023 (UTC)
- Further, many scholars believe that the Cassi Tribe (Belgae) are a sub tribe of the Parisii (Frankish). Cassiparisii (talk) 04:54, 20 June 2023 (UTC)
