Excessive auto-tune?

Excessive auto-tune is not really an expression used by audio engineers. It is quite misleading to categorize the application of pitch tuning on some of her vocals as excessive, or to conclude that auto-tune software is being used in her music. A more technical way to describe this effect would be hard-tuning, hard vocal tuning or hard pitch tuning; that is to say that " pitch or vocal tuning describes the effect being applied, and hard describes the application of the effect. Auto-tune is one of of many pitch-correction software programs that exist which can be used to produce a hard-tuning effect. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.148.101.35 (talk) 03:12, 9 June 2014 (UTC) Someone really needs to change the excessive auto-tune sentence. It's inflamitory and its not even a technical expression. Excessive auto-tune is a subjective observation and it is not informational or factual. The correct expression would be hard-tuning, the common jargon used by audio engineers to describe this vocal effect. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.14.220.26 (talk) 13:31, 4 August 2014 (UTC)

My edit was undone by Acalamari for some reason with no justification on this page. Interpuncts are used to space between occupations on other artists' pages, I am not sure why it is being changed to commas here. Furthermore, as the only activism that is currently sourced on the page is animal rights activism (she is a Humane Society Global Ambassador) that would be the only one approriate to list under occupation. minor question

In the lede, it says she has been nominated for over 60 awards and has won over 13. I'm fine with the nominated for over 60, since 60 is a round number. But why "over 13"? 13 is a specific number. If the number is known, bhy not just say 13, or 15, or whatever it is? It sounds somewhat unencyclopedic. Even "over a dozen" would sound better. Jbower47 (talk) 00:04, 24 February 2016 (UTC)

Headliner

"A headliner is the main act in a music, theatre, or comedy performance. Generally, the headliner is the final act in a performance, preceded by the opening act(s)." The headliner is about who has the most prestige to draw people to the show where there will be multiple performances, not that they have to be onstage for the entirety of the show. The analogy is to a headline in a news article that draws you into reading the entire article. --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) (talk) 19:54, 15 February 2017 (UTC)

Influences

The list of influences was ridiculously long. That many artists without any context does nothing to help a reader understand the artist. Significant artists could be re-addeed if done in a more readable fashion. Text dumped here for posterity. Wickedjacob (talk) 03:28, 18 February 2017 (UTC)

Residence: "New York City, New York"

Is there any evidence supporting this claim in the infobox? It does not appear in the body of the article and there are no published sources confirming that she resides in New York; several articles do mention her staying in hotels there during her trial, but the only residences I can find corroboration of were in Nashville and in California; unless there is evidence that she actually lives in New York City, this should be removed. An editor added File:Kesha signature.png and reverted my removal. Aside from the fact that I don't really see what it adds to the article, the uploader of the 2013 file says "own work" but there is no indication of a source from which this drawing was derived to demonstrate that this is an authentic reproduction of Kesha's signature. Narrative Issue

There seems to be a bit of a narrative issue with the "early life" section. One paragraph says that she was accepted into Barnard College but dropped out after three months. The very next paragraph contains a claim that she dropped out of high school and earned her GED.

There's no way both of those things can be true, and I'm unfamiliar with policies of this nature. Is there a protocol for this?

Update the court case in the lead please. it was years ago, it was dismissed, why is it still listed as ongoing and with all the claims that were dismissed in 2014?

We also have in the lead that she was an immediate success that quotes records released over a 10 year period! Is that instant? Needs changing as doesnt make sense. And that once, many many years ago she has a single on tiktok that sold well, but that has now been exceeded by literally 100s of others since then, also needs updating. And then we have how many sales she has had to date, in 2013. Again needs updating. Are ringtones now classed as sales as the lead claims?

She is also not an actress, needs changing - A cameo as yourself, and playing yourself in documentary's does not make her an actress? Also I can find mention of a few seconds of "rap" in just one of her songs. So basically not a rapper. Needs changing please2A00:23C4:220:CF01:1184:75C3:E680:1566 (talk) 15:09, 14 October 2021 (UTC) 2A00:23C4:220:CF01:1184:75C3:E680:1566 (talk) 15:09, 14 October 2021 (UTC)

Also the fact that Kesha made false claims of the rape of Katy Perry, denied by the singer herself and found to be lies in court is again ignored. She was found to have lied and made to pay fees etc, surely this should be in the article? Or is OK to make false rape claims against men?2A00:23C4:220:CF01:1184:75C3:E680:1566 (talk) 15:19, 14 October 2021 (UTC)

Kesha is pansexual, but she's listen in bisexual categories

Kesha is openly pansexual, and this is noted in her wiki page under the first sentence of the Personal Life section, but she's listed in the 'Bisexual musicians' and 'Bisexual women' categories, despite the existence of the 'Pansexual musicians' and 'Pansexual women' categories — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thecloudking (talkcontribs) 05:14, 27 October 2021 (UTC)

Kesha self-identifies as bisexual. Please see the following sources: https://www.attitude.co.uk/article/exclusive-kesha-on-bisexuality-and-being-able-to-run-free-in-her-relationship-1/22208/ https://www.huffpost.com/entry/kesha-bisexual-pop-star-doesnt-love-just-men_n_2396180 Possibleuseful (talk) 13:22, 31 October 2021 (UTC)

Sexuality

As of June 2022, listing Kesha as bisexual seems to be inaccurate, judging by this quote from her recent post: “I’m not gay. I’m not straight. I don’t know what I am. I love people.” The key sentence there is the third one; she did not specifically label herself with the term bisexual, she said she is unsure of what she is. Thus, I believe any categories relating to bisexuality should be removed, but general LGBT categories should be kept. I wanted to bring this up instead of just making changes to avoid a possible edit war. Redandsymmetry (talk) 00:03, 17 June 2022 (UTC)

Fake lyrics added to article with malicious intent to smear a third party

In the section "artistry" the quoted lyrics from the song "Dinosaur" are fake and probably libelous. They take the following words from an interview with Sebert which is about the incident which inspired the song (not from the song itself) and with clearly malicious intent substitute a well-known actor's name for part of her statement:

"There's a song called 'Dinosaur' about this old guy who was hitting on me, and his toupee was kind of falling off, and I was like, 'Oh my God, you're so old, you're prehistoric, you're like a dinosaur. D-I-N-O-S-A-you are a dinosaur.'"

Also, the source provided (a BBC review of Animal) does not quote lyrics from the song nor does it support any other statement in that section of the article - including about the song's formula. The source for the original quote from Sebert about the original incident is here:
