Our current text says this is simply a normal surname with the meaning of "musician". In fact, it was first coined and adopted, by Jomo Kenyatta "based on the Kikuyu term for a fancy belt that he wore". It continues in his family of course, and has been adopted by several admirers. The article doesn't need all this detail, but should be corrected to at least align with the facts. - Snori (talk) 10:57, 29 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
