Merge from Battle for the Bluegrass and Governor's Cup (Battle for the Bluegrass)

Merging the rivalry together is perfect. No sure the basketball rivalry is called the Battle of the Bluegrass, think we need some citation. I have lived in the Lexington, KY area my entire life and have been a Kentucky fan for much of it. I have NEVER heard of the UK-UofL rivalry referred to as "The Wildcati Cardinalinian Conflict"...

Cleanup

As an outsider, the abbreviations are confusing. If the rivalry is Kentucky versus Louisville as the scoreboards show, how about using Kentucky and Louisville throughout the article, rather than UK and UofL?

The background section can be shortened allowing each school article to reveal their detailed history. Focus on the rivalry.

Citations needed

I came across this article today and saw major areas that need citations: for example, you can't just say that Tubby Smith attracted African American fans to the University of Kentucky because he's black. Also, I've never heard of Rick Pitino being called "Benerick" - certainly not by the professionals in the local media; and as this is harmful/rude AND uncited, it's gone. Background History Section vandalized

An anonymous user has changed the history section to include information about the foundation of Transylvania University three times. The University of Kentucky was founded in 1865 by splitting from Transy (and Transy remains a separate active university). The University fo Kentucky claims 1865 as its founding date (see the citation, the university seal, or any University produced material for this fact). Louisville vacated 2012 game

I see that the 2012, which was won by Louisville, but subsequently vacated by the NCAA, is still counted as a UoL win. As I understand it, the official record book will now show that game as a Kentucky victory. Shouldn't this page reflect this? --rogerd (talk) 00:08, 30 December 2018 (UTC)

As I understand it, the record reflects as if the game was never played. The NCAA vacated victories but not losses, too. So if the record would show a loss, it would still be there.
