Pic by crazyale

I created this article in 2009 and added my conclusion that the house no longer existed, based upon my visiting the area and finding nothing like the house depicted in 1978 photos at the coordinates given, and from asking at two nearby farmhouses. I concluded it had been located where there is a newish house and older barns (but no one was home, or at least no one would answer the door), at the one set of houses and barns in the triangle formed by Old Seneca Turnpike, Van Camp Rd, and Chapman Road. Crazyale later took and posted a pic of the barns, looking west from Chapman Road I think.

In March 2012 a person identifying self as owner reports the house does exist, and is further west from the pictured barns. The person sought help uploading pics but was not helped. I think the pics could have been added at http://commons.wikimedia.org, but the person was trying to upload them at Wikipedia proper, and that required confirmed status which requires 10 or more edits, and the person was served poorly by replies at wt:NRHP and the person's Talk page. It seemed quite reasonable for the person to give up eventually.

At File talk:Skaneateles NY barn.jpg, the person commented that the address of the real house is 1861 Old Seneca Turnpike. And said twice that the real house is west of the barns depicted. Bing maps and Mapquest show that address to be even further east, going the opposite direction (but point to an interior farm field, that could be associated with any one of several houses on Old Seneca Turnpike. --doncram 01:27, 29 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Now based on satellite view pics and the street address pointed to by google maps, i.e. a red-roofed house on Old Seneca Turnpike, it seems this red-roofed house is the correct one. So 42°58′51.63″N 76°22′45.36″W / 42.9810083°N 76.3792667°W / 42.9810083; -76.3792667 seems to me to be the correct house. This is in fact east of the barns depicted (in fact contrary to what the owner said). I am putting these coordinates into the article. If anyone can confirm these, please do. --doncram 01:42, 29 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
