Kelly's Heritage

There is no proof that Kelly IS Haitian so why put who keeps adding false information.

jhvugcuygv uyrxdytctrazyfc

What is happening to the information on these artists pages?? I swear not too long ago this page said that Kelly's next album would be "My Story: Kelly Rowland" now, theres nothing stating that. Not too long ago the name of the supposed first single, "Gotsta Go", was on here too. I've heard Gotsta Go and I've seen a live performance of it. I also have more tracks from the album. Why isn't it listed anymore???

If you check the album's page, you will see a link to an interview Kelly did with MTV. It states the following:

  1. First and foremost: KELLY ROWLAND IS NOT PREGNANT!!!
  2. She has since gone back into the studio to record more songs for her upcoming album and is unsure if it will still be named My Story.

Who Says

Says who? Its verifiable is it not?

Voice

Kelly Rowland is NO WHERE NEAR A MEZZO SOPRANO. Beyonce is a MEZZO. Kelly's voice is too light. Its not thick enough for a mezzo char. She is a FULL LYRIC SOPRANO. Her low range is not thick and strong like Beyonces so shes not an contralto either. (Kelly Rowland can be classified as a Spinto Soprano/Mezzo-Soprano, whose voice possesses contralto range. It has been estimated that she has a 4 octave range. She is also capable of employing high and fast melismas. An example of this is a early performance of the girls as a quartet where Kelly sings second lead/second soprano harmony lines opposite/underneath Letoya Luckett (and actually above Beyoncé at the ending last lines of the song "was blind but now I see". The performance can be found on youtube.com.[1]. Kelly has been heard hitting high notes and low notes although it has not been stated if she can sing as high as Beyoncé(Dramatic Mezzo-Soprano or Wagnerian Soprano or even Full Soprano),or as low as Michelle (Alto/Mezzo-Soprano) even though it is assumed. It has been estimated that she has a 4 octave range. She is also capable of employing high and fast melismas. + Kelly Rowland can be classified as a Spinto Soprano/Mezzo-Soprano, whose voice possesses contralto range. Beyoncé and Kelly have been singing together since childhood and have very similar voices. It has been estimated that she has a 4 octave range. She is also capable of employing high and fast melismas.

In Destiny's Child's earlier career, Kelly usually sang as the second lead vocals with alto harmony lines while Beyoncé sings the lead vocals. Examples of this occur during the verses and even the bridge of the groups' first single,No, No, No (Destiny's Child song). LeToya Luckett actually sang soprano harmonizing lines. Letoya even mentions in an interview that part of her difficulty being a solo artist as opposed to being in a group was that in a group she knew her place, She was the soprano.[2]. Beyoncé of course was the lead singer. - Kelly singing an alto harmony line was only a result of the vocal production. Because she is the second lead of the group, she would sing the harmonizing lines, opposite the lead regardless if they were notes placed above or below Beyoncé's melody lines. There is a performance of the girls singing the national anthem at a basketball game. The girls trade off singing lead. Kelly first beginning while the other girls harmonize with humming, Beyoncé singing a soprano line, Michelle doing an alto. Then Michelle takes lead and Beyoncé and Kelly harmonize, Beyoncé continuing singing soprano harmonies as with the flow of the music, Kelly singing an alto line as with the flow of the music coming off of her lead part. At the "...and the rockets red glare...", Beyoncé takes the lead singing as lead vocals/second soprano, Michelle sings her alto line and Kelly sings the first soprano part, however, it is a harmony line, not a lead melody line. This occurs through to the end of the performance, where kelly is heard belting out the two highest notes of the song. this performance may also be found on youtube.com. [3] Kelly singing predominantly soprano harmonies occurs throughout the tours that the group went on. An example of this is the Survivor Tour 2003 DVD where Kelly sings all of the High/Soprano harmonizing lines. In the Survivor tour DVD, the ad-lib/melismas at the end of the Emotion (Destiny's Child song), song that is normally sung by Beyoncé is actually done by Kelly, however sang with different melismas and revised and made her own, apparent when she sings "nobody to say...kelly goodnight, goodnight." The melismas occur prominently on the last syllable of "night" in the second "goodnight". It is clear that she can sing in the whistle register.

- Highest Note Reached Live: E6 - During a live performance of "Emotions", Survivor Tour DVD. Beyoncé has said on many occasions, particularly in interviews, that Kelly tends to hold back. and it has been said by their former vocal teacher, that kelly has the higher register when she fully unleashes her voice even higher then that of beyonce'

Vocal Profile

KELLY ROWLAND IS NOT A SPINTO. She doesnt have the stamina to keep pushing her voice like that. Christina is an Spinto. Kelly is a Full Lyric Soprano. When Destiny's Child came to Fort Lauderdale, Florida for their Destiny Fulfilled and Lovin It tour, I was amazed at how talented they were. I always knew they were, but to see them perform the way they did was something I will always remember. But what I like the most about the show was that Kelly and Michelle were outstanding, so was Beyoncé, but we always see Beyoncé as the stand out one but Kelly and Michelle really did their thing and I was so surprised.

From Their #1 Fan: Bianca J.B.

how about this : she is a spinto soprano but also has a agility so sang on alto chorus? - M -

Classify her as a spinto soprano cause in the video she held the C6 for pretty long(longer than Beyonce and i luv Beyonce) or classify her as Spinto Mezzo.

How about you guys check out what I put under her voice profile which is all proven fact and is all backed up and cannot be disputed then you will be off the fence. Kelly's voice changes on that note because she pushes the change because that is the quality she wants. Like Patty Labelle. Think about it..She has done it every night for every concert during the international tour and american tour (ive seen enough different concerts to know) and if she was a spinto and it was pushed only, she would have damaged her vocal cords half way through the tour for pushing soo much. Kelly was altering her voice in the same way Mary J Blige would however Kelly has a higher range and more lyric sounding voice than mary j blige who has a raspy voice. Think about it... she sounds like mary j blige on that note. --GotsMyOwnJesse 06:59, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

Well, in my opinion, the Live DVD in Atlanta wasn't a good night for Kelly. I went to the concert in Memphis, and her night was flawless. There were no strains or anything. She hit every high note on "Bad Habit" perfectly. She can hit the high notes in her natural register, like she did on their performance of "If" and in their performance of "The Star-Spangled Banner" at the All-Star game.24.164.197.116 01:03, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

You are SOOOOOOOO right. I was there that night in Memphis too and the entire show was flawless (I'm still trying to understand why they don't film the first show because it's always the best! lol). Kelly had no trouble singing "Dilemma" or "Bad Habit" and if I remember correctly she even sang the top when she and Beyonce harmonize on "Through With Love." And just to throw this out there, on that song fro The Seat Filler called "I Need a Love" Kelly sang an F#5 in full voice, so I think we need to seriously consider her vocal profile.Jdot01 02:54, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

Kelly Rowland is not a soprano. She sings the top harmony because her voice is the clearest and sounds great on top, but she frequently uses head voice above C5 when they harmonize. She doesn't sing in soprano or Mezzo-soprano range. She is an alto. A great one, but she is an alto. 69.87.160.2 (talk) 02:31, 18 September 2009 (UTC)

Collapsing incident?

Is is really necessary to have a seperate section of the page for that? That just doesn't seem like it would be included in an encyclopedia.Jdot01 22:31, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
