Kawanehon name?
[edit]Could someone please verify that this place is called "Kawanehon"? I was under the strongest impression that "本町" was one word, and I can't find any place that calls it "Kawanehon" except for places that are obviously quoting from Wikipedia. Acidtoyman (talk) 12:38, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
- I support Acidtoyman, and the article title should be corrected to "Kawane-honchō", or maybe "Kawane (town)" instead, as there is Kawane,_Shizuoka in the same prefecture. Many cities/towns in Japan, including this example, are called [本町] Error: {{Lang}}: invalid parameter: |3= (help) (and elsewhere [本町] Error: {{Lang}}: invalid parameter: |3= (help)). In this sense, it does not make sense to abbreviate honchō to hon.
- The official website for the town writes they are Kawanehoncho: http://www.town.kawanehon.shizuoka.jp/en/default.asp
- It is Kawanehoncho on a tourists guide map "A Guide to the Oigawa Basin" edited by the local tourist association supervised by the Planning and Tourism Division, Kawanehoncho General Branch Office: http://www.okuooi.gr.jp/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/9be0a1bda8f5f0be916aec447a92e5a7.pdf
- Japan National Tourism Organization says "...Kawane-Honcho is a town in Haibara County, ..." http://www.jnto.go.jp/eng/location/spot/histtown/senzu.html
- Wonder why an online lexicon sources that Wikipedia Corpus records the town name as "Kawane-honcho": http://ejje.weblio.jp/content/川根本町 (site in Japanese). [静岡県千頭(現在の川根本町)の出身。] Error: {{Lang}}: invalid parameter: |3= (help) Reference Wikipedia [日英京都関連文書対訳コーパス] Error: {{Lang}}: invalid parameter: |3= (help). --Omotecho (talk) 19:52, 21 November 2015 (UTC)
