Bounce TV relationship

[edit]

Bounce Media LLC (Bounce TV) is not a subsidiary of Katz Broadcasting just because Jonathan Katz is COO of Bounce and CEO of Katz. Bounce has a separate ownership (per Bounce article: Andrew Young Ambassador to the United Nations, Martin Luther King III and Andrew "Bo" Young III; the group also includes Rob Hardy and Will Packer) from Katz. Katz BroadcastingScripps Networks – After the Scripps acquisition of Ion, the combination of the former Katz and Ion properties is now one division, referred to as Scripps Networks by the company and in an increasing number of reliable sources. A hatnote should be added to Scripps Networks Interactive if moved.

  • Leaning oppose. I would refactor the scope slightly to make the article about the company during the time between its founding and its acquisition by Scripps. If this were a company that had existed for a similar period a half century ago, I think we would write about it just that way. BD2412 T 17:28, 12 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. Just like Ion Media, Katz article has alot of history as an independent entity before its acquisition by Scripps. It's best to keep the article as it is. I would suggest either making a separate article or a subsection on the main Scripps article and the history of the networks moving forward. Csworldwide1 (talk) 23:25, 16 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose - Per Csworldwide1, keep as a separate article on the independent history. For now, a section in the main Scripps article is probably best, and it can be split off later if necessary. BilCat (talk) 01:37, 17 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Katz BroadcastingScripps Networks – With the Katz in Katz Broadcasting now having moved onto the Free TV Networks effort (he left around the time of the last pagemove discussion per LinkedIn) and the Scripps Networks name long established in post-'21 sources, it's pretty safe to move this at this point. @Sammi Brie, Csworldwide1, and BilCat: (not pinging Spshu, the original creator as they departed WP three years ago). Support A hatnote can steer any old links to SNI if needed. Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 03:58, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
