Teenage Dream is 3x Platinum in the UK http://www.bpi.co.uk/certifiedawards/Search.aspx Please change that! --79.199.55.11 (talk) 12:55, 11 February 2012 (UTC)
Done It would help if you would detail the request in a 'please change X to Y' format instead of simply saying "Please change that!". Leaving it to the volunteer to figure out which section and whether this is an addition or a replacement is really outside of the scope of the {{edit semi-protected}} template. "Part of Me" Single
{{edit protected}}
Katy Perry's single "Part of Me" will NOT be counting towards Teenage Dream. Billboard has already stated that the song will be listed as part of 'Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection' in an article regarding the single. --76.189.253.72 (talk) at 07:10, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
So, in Katy Perry's Discography, please change "Part of Me" from being apart of 'Teenage Dream' to a part of 'Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection' since Billboard has changed their policies. Thank you!
- ✗ Not done It's the same album. The songs from the re-release don't count towards the record. The album is not an EP as it's not available for solo purchase so all releases from the album count towards Teenage Dream. It's the same as on Rihanna discography where the songs on the GGGB re-release are included under GGGB itself. Sidenote: Billboard did not change any rules, any re-release that has more than 3 songs not on the original album count as a new album - this has been an established rule forever. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 07:20, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
Sadly, this is incorrect. Billboard does count "Disturbia" & "Take A Bow" off of 'Good Girl Gone Bad' (2007). For future reference, the rule was changed after Rihanna released 'Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded' as it sparked debate over how to count the singles. Billboard is counting the singles released from 'The Complete Confection' as they did with 'The Fame Monster' which was also packaged with 'The Fame'. Thank you!
Furthermore, it would be incredibly inaccurate to list the single from 'Teenage Dream' as if one were to site this website as a source they would have inaccurate information if "Part of Me" were listed as a single off of 'Teenage Dream' and not 'Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection'. Another example would be Mariah Carey's "Don't Forget About Us" which Billboard counts off of 'The Emancipation of Mimi' (2005) when the album was released including three additional songs and one additional remix. Because of artists doing this led to the rule change by Billboard. I imagine Wikipedia would want to have the correct information on their webpages, so listing a single off an album when it did not count off the aforementioned album would be completely inaccurate and make the article an unreliable source. --76.189.253.72 (talk) at 16:38, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
- WP:DEADLINE. We will see how the album charts and how its single is classified to determine how Billboard is marking this. Until then it will be treated as a re-release off of Teenage Dream per WP:CONSENSUS. Also, please sign your posts using ~~~~. Thank you. A recent article by BILLBOARD has clearly stated how Katy Perry's single "Part of Me" will be classified in this article: http://www.billboard.com/#/column/chartbeat/ask-billboard-can-katy-perry-top-michael-1006185152.story?page=1
As I mentioned before, it will NOT count from the Teenage Dream album, but the re-release "The Complete Confection". Please change the discography to list "Part of Me" as a single from "Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection". Thank you! 76.189.253.72 (talk) 20:03, 20 February 2012 (UTC)
Not done: As above. Please wait. Thanks, Celestra (talk) 22:54, 20 February 2012 (UTC)
- It's the same album, it's just a new release/version with extra tracks. The Fame Monster by Lady Gaga was released as an EP, it's not the same case. What Billboard says in that last article is that, when thinking of that Michael Jackson record, it won't count to Teenage Dream but, overall, "Part of Me" is considered a single from "'Teenage Dream' and its re-released version" - not from a new album. Then shouldn't the discography you guys have reflect that this is from "Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection"? Otherwise, someone using this site as a source would be incorrectly informed that "Teenage Dream" had six #1 singles. Which as Billboard has stated MANY times, is NOT the case. Thank you! 76.189.253.72 (talk) 22:39, 22 February 2012 (UTC)
- You have been told by 3 other editors (4 including myself) that it is a song from a re-release and is thus classified under Teenage Dream. Unless the Complete Confection is sold as an EP with just the new songs it is still from Teenage Dream. The lead does not state it's adding on to her record. You need to stop, WP:CONSENSUS has been established and this is WP:IDONTLIKEIT. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 23:12, 22 February 2012 (UTC)
Certifications
I suggest chaning RIAA ARIA and BPI etc. certifications back to US, AUS, UK like on most other articles as it becomes complicated and less understandable, Katy Perry is a popular singing meaning this will be a more popular page compared to others so it needs to be made clear. — Preceding unsigned comment added by LukeChad (talk • contribs) 01:17, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
- Sorry but they are staying as they are. See Wikipedia:WikiProject_Discographies/style#Samples as what is present in the article is the new style that has been established. Eventually all article will follow this formatting. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 05:01, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
I agree, can it definitely not be done? and 'Teenage Dream' the single has not been certified as 3xPlatinum in the UK, it is certified silver. The album is 3xPlatinum — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.12.80.90 (talk) 16:10, 13 March 2012 (UTC)

"Goodbye for Now" - P.O.D. f/ Katy Perry
Why was this removed? Katy Perry is officially credited for being a feature in the song, as she sings background vocals and some words in the end. The album and the single credits here, so why must the song be removed from the "As featured artist" section and the music video section? It's no different than her feature in "Starstrukk" or "If We Ever Meet Again." --Crocodileman (talk) 21:29, 15 April 2012 (UTC)
- There is a difference between background vocals and being a featured artist. That is why it was removed. Perry sings vocals, she does not FEATURE on the song; all she did was co-write and do backing vocals. Find a high-quality third-party reliable source (such as Billboard) that states she is a featured vocalist and that it was released as a single. WP:NOR and no WP:POV allowed in this article - that is why it was removed. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 21:32, 15 April 2012 (UTC)
When saying that "Part Of Me" was the sixth top 10 from the album, something should be said about how it doesn't qualify in the same way those first five No. 1s did. Although Wikipedia mentions the re-release of the album, Billboard Magazine doesn't see it as the same album in the same sense of Michael Jackson's "Bad" having those five No. 1s. "Part Of Me" is only from the "Confectionary" version of the "Teenage Dream" album; not sure how to say this all succinctly, but I know I read it in Billboard a couple times. I just wanted to say ... shouldn't we add a referenced salse column to singles like with albums ... JLo's Discography page has that and the certs on Katy Perry's are outdated and subject to inflation while a sales column would help give a better indication of units sold ... it shouldn't just BE with albums SayaamRulz (talk) 12:16, 10 October 2013 (UTC)

What defines a single?
Can someone please tell me how do we know when a song becomes an official single? I know that just because a track is released to iTunes or any other digital outlet doesn't automatically make a single, however, things get a bit confusing for me when a "promotional single", such as "Dark Horse", gets airplay on radio. Noticeable spins/audience impressions/whatever too. Anony03271991 (talk) 14:04, 18 November 2013 (UTC)Anony03271991
- "Dark Horse" would've been a single if it had an add date on radios. It is getting airplay but I don't think it was actually released to radio. That's why it is a promotional single. Decodet (talk) 14:50, 18 November 2013 (UTC)

Orphaned references in Katy Perry discography
I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Katy Perry discography's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Katy Hudson singles and If We Ever Meet Again
Search Me and Trust in Me were released as singles from Katy Hudson in 2001. I was thinking under Albums and Singles - they should be split into two sections "As Katy Hudson" and "As Katy Perry" because the music style and release were two VERY different things. Also, can I just note Katy Perry was FEATURED on If We Ever Meet Again (check iTunes AND the cover art) - it wasn't a duet - so it shouldn't be listed under "As Lead Artist" but under "As Featured Artist".
DollarSignAyaam (talk) 14:25, 14 December 2013 (UTC)
- About "Search Me" and "Trust in Me" - do you have any reliable source claiming those tracks were released as singles? Even if they were, we can't split the singles into two sections, because Katy Hudson and Katy Perry are the same person, even though the music style of those releases are totally different.
- About "If We Ever Meet Again" - to be honest, I'm not sure why it is listed as a duet. I just checked iTunes Store and the song is tagged as a release by "Timbaland featuring Katy Perry". Therefore, I personally see it as a single in which Perry is a featured artist. Decodet (talk) 23:49, 18 December 2013 (UTC)
