This article is rife with unencyclopedic hype that makes much of it read like a promo piece, and so obscures the genuine significance of Katherine Dunham's many notable accomplishments. There are many redundancies, hugely wordy paragraphs that need streamlining, and an almost complete neglect of Wikipedia Manual of Style (except for the well-fleshed out References). The research seems impeccable, which makes these lapses (such as a citation request at the head of the piece) all the more perplexing.
One suspects that huge chunks of text were cut-and-pasted from various sources (explaining some of the redundancies, as well as grafs with sentences that read as if from two different people), but that's an investigation for another time. Let's please do Ms. Dunham justice. -- Tenebrae04:47, 28 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

THERE ARE A FEW MISTAKES WHICH HAVE TO BE CORRECTED. I DID CORRECT A FEW THINGS MONTHS AGO. I WOULD LIKE TO SPEAK WITH SOMEONE. GIVING THE RIGHT INFORMATION ABOUT MY MOTHER IS ESSENTIAL. THE PHOTO WITH 'CUMBIA' WRITTEN UNDER IT, IS 'TROPICS'. PLEASE CONTACT ME. MY EMAIL IS: <removed email address, check diff if you want to respond to it>
The part about Sao Paulo is patently false. Any Brazilian will tell you that they are totally mistoso, and there is no racial discrimination there, not since Princesa Isabel's time, at least.190.141.144.44 (talk) 01:20, 2 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
