See Wikipedia:Biographies_of_living_persons/Noticeboard#BLP issue at Kate Upton: leaked photos Jytdog (talk) 01:25, 24 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • I object to the naming of this issue above and on the notice board. It is sexist and dismissive and rude. As a woman I am totally offended by the heading as well as the fact that content, which I found offensive and which was obviously harmful to the subject of this BLP article (which is why I removed it), was restored. -- BrillLyle (talk) 10:23, 24 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Tweaked section heading and link in OP a bit per change made by Kingsindian at WP:BLPN#BLP issue at Kate Upton: leaked photos and WP:TPG#Section headings. @Jytdog and BrillLyle: I hope the new heading is acceptable to both of you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:44, 25 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It's fine. Jytdog (talk) 06:19, 25 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It's not about what is "acceptable to both." It is about what is not offensive. It is about reinforcing sexism and re-abusing someone who has been victimized. I think this is very clear, but what do I know. Apparently I know nothing and only male editors on Wikipedia can take action or have a voice. But yeah, thanks for changing. I know this was hard. -- BrillLyle (talk) 23:05, 26 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@BrillLyle: Not hard at all and in fact even allowed per WP:TPG#Section headings, regardless of one's gender. "Acceptable to both" was just meant as a courtesy to see if there was a consensus for this change since the two of you had previously posted in the thread; it had nothing to doing with only male editors on Wikipedia can take action or have a voice; in fact, I don't think I've stated I'm male anywhere in any of the ongoing discussions about this or claimed that being male gives anyone any special privaledges when it comes to editing. Moreover, just in case you missed it, I did suggest changing the BLPN section heading and the talk page heading at the very beginning of this post. FWIW, your gender has never even crossed my mind with respect to any of the posts I made and I believe I've kept my comments focused on relevant policies and guidelines, and not other editors. Now, if you'd prefer that the section heading be further changed, be bold and change it yourself or suggest something different. If you do change it, keep in mind the fifth paragraph of MOS:HEAD (which discussed such changes), and add an WP:ANCHOR if needed to preserve any links. -- Marchjuly (talk) 00:42, 27 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
