@Kacir: No, you are wrong. Look at the Andy Murray for example. I know it's male tennis, but it's the same rule. Talking about WTA site as a source, there is so many mistakes. Also, look at the 2021 WTA Tour and you will find out that Olympics is part of the WTA Tour. Cheers! JamesAndersoon (talk) 08:49, 18 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@JamesAndersoon: WTA is the governing body of women's tennis. The ATP has its own rules within the Olympic Games. The WTA website is an authoritative source, which of course is not wrong. WTA has only one approach to the Olympic champions from 2016 and 2020, and this organisation does not count the titles without exception. All the winners do not have a title in the WTA statistics. Kacir09:42, 18 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The section "WTA Tour final" corresponds exactly to the titles on the WTA Tour. The only authoritative source that decides the number is the WTA. Profiles of WTA female tennis players accurately indicate the number of titles on the WTA Tour. So the WTA profiles do not list ITF titles or titles in the WTA 125K series, e.g. Mayar Sherif won 1 singles title on WTA Tour, 4 on WTA 125K and 9 on ITF Circuit → WTA Profile counts just 1 WTA Tour title. On the contrary, the ITF profile counts all titles including the Olympic Games, Siniaková. Kacir11:00, 18 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Kacir: Once again, I told you everything. Plus, times flies and no one bother about this. It says WTA Tour and Olympics is part of this. WTA ofcourse it main source but still is full of mistakes unfortunatelly. p.s. Don't know why it bother you so much ... There is so much other things that need to be fix so don't worry. JamesAndersoon (talk) 11:12, 18 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
And I don't understand your point with Mayar Sherif example. She has 1 WTA title on the WTA Tour just like both WTA and Wikipedia say. We all understand that WTA 125K is not part of the WTA Tour. JamesAndersoon (talk) 11:14, 18 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The Olympics are included in the charts by longstanding consensus at Wikiproject Tennis. They are part of the ATP and WTA tours and these days give ranking points. Whether they count as an "official" title has been described multiple ways by the press and the governing bodies of tennis. Most sources consider the Olympics an ATP/WTA title, and it's used by the WTA and ATP in head to head match totals. There is also consistency in WTA and ATP charts since the ATP includes the Olympics while the WTA, since it changed the formatting of it's charts, fails to include it in the detailed data. Then, why you did not react when ip user that is mentioned removed this multiple times in the past. I have never seen you fixed it but now you care about this? I can't understand that after almost 5 years since I started with editing these pages you guys can't make rules clear. We still arguing about things like this? What is exactly the problem? Just make a correct template/example of how pages needs to look like. I really don't understand you Fyunck(click), are you like following only what I does or what? In the past I fought against people that did things against guidlines and you never react like never. You only react with my edits but leave other do their thing? I am really disappointed ... literally speechless. Congrats you .... JamesAndersoon (talk) 20:10, 18 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I just noticed this discussion when I saw the players stats removed today. The WTA since its site redo has some issues. Players like Elena Dementieva still have the Olympics counted in their totals. Using internet archive the WTA site always listed the totals in the data. And even today they publish articles that include the Olympics in the player data. That is why it has long-standing consensus in the charts per wikiproject tennis. Fyunck(click) (talk) 20:31, 18 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
"I just noticed this discussion when I saw the players stats removed today" - but you never saw it in the past? Ofcourse, avoiding to answer my question... Professionalism on point JamesAndersoon (talk) 20:38, 18 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
What? I have thousands of articles on my watchlist... certainly most of the current high ranked players. When I see something removed I investigate. I don't recall who's I saw first... maybe Bencic? Then I noticed more had been removed against guidelines, and then I saw this conversation. As I look back, one anon IP was removing the info over a couple days and you put it back within hours of their vandalism. There was nothing for me to do whether I noticed it or not. Do you need me to click on "thank" for every edit you do that looks ok to me? There would be zillions since I see so many. Fyunck(click) (talk) 21:35, 18 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Since you acting like that, everything is clear for me .... Starting from now, everytime someone try to do something against guidlines (against you) I will connect them with you, so you can fixed it. Fixed problem! JamesAndersoon (talk) 08:11, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Siniakova has 20 doubles titles per the WTA bio. I can't help it if their last site update broke some parts of their data. All past site updates include the Olympics. If you don't want to deal with problem editors and I don't see it, let me know and I'll do the dirty work. I do that all the time anyways so no problemo.
