American terminology

[edit]

Can some-one explain to a simple limey what some of the expressions/terminology used in the article mean in plain English - e.g. "freshman", "backstopped", "MVP", "GAA". Cheers. --Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 18:41, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • "Freshman": first-year student (in this case, at university)
  • "Backstopped": Played goalkeeper
  • "MVP": "Most Valuable Player", the equivalent to Player of the Year in English footy.
  • "GAA": Goals against average (mean goals allowed per game).

Kasey Keller Day

[edit]

As they are government documents can't the City of Seattle[1] and State of Washington [2] proclamations be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons and added to this article? ~ Fopam (talk) 20:43, 14 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
