I added the Haida cat and NorthAmNative template because towns with notable indigenous history or populations should get them; but it would seem there's a need for a separate village on Kasaan (Haida village) where the indigenous history/culture and any archaeology or remaining vestiges of the traditional settlement can be laid out separately from the modern town page. I can and probably will start a stub for it, but if Alaskans or Haida from Kasaan can add anything annd enrich the aritcle, so much the better.Skookum1 (talk) 14:22, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
- I'll re-look this up later, and it's an issue not just in Alaska, but isn't there also what we in CAnada would call a band government, i.e. a council/govt of the Haida at Kasaan parallel to the civic government? I realize this article is for the municipal aspect of Kasaan; but as a place it does have another government; FWIU Old Kasaan is nearby and not the same place = ?? Just going by memory here; in similar cases in British Columbia e.g. where I'm from Lillooet, British Columbia (was from), there's the District Municipality, but also the lands and councils of three band governments (Lillooet, Bridge River and Cayoose Creek) which are all part of teh same "metroplitan area"; and at places like Alkali Lake, British Columbia while the white "town" is uncinrporated, there is a band government/lands....(and btw for those who scanned on the name, Alkali Lake is nowhere near the Rocky Mountains - or any mountinas - unlike as the script for the X-Men movies indicates).Skookum1 (talk) 18:30, 12 March 2009 (UTC)
- In other words, should the Haida council/govt at Kasaan also be in this article, or in its own?Skookum1 (talk) 18:32, 12 March 2009 (UTC)
Ok, really? Really?
[edit]"In the city the population was spread out with 8 residents under the age of 18, 3 from 18 to 24, 9 from 25 to 44, 15 from 45 to 64, and 4 who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 45 years. There were 22 male residents and 17 female, with 18 and 13 over the age of 18, giving a ratio of 129.4 males per 100 females and 138.5 males per 100 females age 18 and over."
It would take less time to just list them. 69.30.57.81 (talk) 18:26, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
