New Chief Minister as on 8/3/11

[edit]

Sadananda Gowda is the new CM. See List_of_Chief_Ministers_of_Karnataka — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.141.112.189 (talk) 03:28, 22 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Resignation crisis

[edit]

It's clear that the seat numbers will eventually be changed, but the resignations have not yet been accepted and the numbers are not yet clear.[1] I suggest that in view of WP:RSBREAKING the seat totals should not be modified until the speaker indicates that he has accepted the resignations (seemingly a constitutional necessity since the would-be resignees have submitted their resignations to the speaker) and the numbers are therefore clear. It’s not even clear that the resignations won't be withdrawn or rejected, for that matter—another reason to wait. Docentation (talk) 10:30, 6 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I’ve requested protection for this page, in view of repeated edits despite requests to discuss the matter on the talk page. These changes seem to be subtle vandalism in creating a hoax, hence the request, but they may well be good faith edits, so I am no longer reverting them. Docentation (talk) 14:09, 6 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
None of the resignations have been accepted, and one report has some MLAs being willing to rescind their resignations if Congress bag the post of CM, so it does seem to be incorrect to list vacancies since the MLAs’ resignations have not yet been accepted as is necessary.[2]
Page has been protected; I think on balance that since most of the edits were from IP users I shall revert them for a fourth time—I wouldn’t call my comments consensus but there has been no response for quite some time even though the edits continued. No reports of acceptance of resignations have been published as far as I can see, so I shall change to INC/79, JD(S)/37, BSP/1, KPJP/1 (govt.) BJP/105 (oppn.), Speaker/1 (INC), Nominated/1 (others). Docentation (talk) 21:50, 6 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The independent MLA who resigned yesterday did so from the government, not the Legislative Assembly.[3] I have modified the seat counts accordingly, i.e., moved the MLA to the “opposition” section. Docentation (talk) 09:24, 8 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, @TradingZones:; I’ve changed it.

Speaker and Deputy Speaker of Karnataka are not vacant

[edit]

According to Constitution of India when government changes cm and his cabinet changes but speaker And deputy speaker remains same. Same case happened in Karnataka, speaker and Deputy speaker are same. Ruling party may change it later. For that they need to give notice 14days before. Till now no notice is given to speaker and Deputy speaker. So they remain same for at least next 14 days. Pradeepmnayak2 (talk) 13:48, 24 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Page protection

[edit]

I have locked the page for several days because of the edit warring, over the past several weeks, about what to put in the infoboxes. Please come here and discuss the question. If you reach agreement, tell me and I will unlock the article. -- MelanieN (talk) 22:43, 7 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

MelanieN, there isn't anything to discuss here. The insertion [1] which multiple IPs have been trying to a include in the article is plain nonsense with respect to this page. It's a modified copy of Rajya Sabha (currently semi-ed due to disruption till Sept 2021) which was initially pushed by Yashodhan Ganu (talk · contribs) who subsequently made a couple of socks, Kanhaiyaa Ganu (talk · contribs) and Yashodhan1995 (talk · contribs), and has now become an LTA case with IPs regularly disrupting multiple unrelated legislature pages by copy pasting that version on a regular basis (see [2], [3], etc).
Since removing it involves removal of a large portion of text, the version sometimes ends up getting re-instated by CVU or ClueBot. The only real solution to this would be a long term semi protection. Tayi Arajakate Talk 23:34, 7 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Legislative assembly seats mentioned for Congress and JDs incorrect

[edit]

Legislative assembly seats mentioned for Congress and JDs incorrect. JDs is 19 and Congress is 134. Not sure how this is not noticed by anyone. Responsble citizen (talk) 15:28, 30 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
