Karkar River → Karkar – 1. The normal convention for European rivers is "Foo". 2. "Karkar" is 10 times more common than "Karkar River" on google books. 3. "Foo River" implies "River" is part of the proper name and 4. Karkar is currently just a redirect to this page. Comment you changed the target of the redirect to this article [1], until December 2014, it used to point to Qarqar, which had a hatnote to Qarqar (disambiguation) which lists several Karkars and did not list this river. -- 65.94.40.137 (talk) 05:54, 29 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Comment if this request fails, the redirect Karkar (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) should be restored to pointing to Qarqar as it hasn't been established that this is the topic at hand, and the target "Qarqar" is the preexisting target and had been stable for eight years. -- 65.94.40.137 (talk) 04:12, 3 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Strong oppose - and I have restored the redirect to Qarqar, but Karkar should perhaps better be a dab with Qarqar Karkar Island Karkar, Selseleh Karkar Muganlysy Karkar Morghi Deli Bajak and Ras Karkar and Karkar language. In ictu oculi (talk) 19:40, 20 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose move to Karkar. Support In ictu oculi's proposal for a Karkar disamibig page with his suggested listings. I checked the page view statistics. None of the pages qualify as WP:Primary Topic but Karkar Island should definitely be the first listing, it's definitely the most sought after meaning of Karkar. If the concern that "Karkar River" isn't the proper name, this page could certainly be moved to Karkar (river). Alsee (talk) 17:30, 21 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
