From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hello,

I noticed that a link placed to one of my pages, http://www.hawaiibeachcombers.com/kailua-beach.html was removed from this page's external links. While granted the page does include ads I believe it does include substantial information that would be of interest to someone wishing to learn more about this particular location in Hawaii.

I would be the first to agree that such content might be too "subjective" to include in the Wikipedia article itself yet I sincerely believe that persons wishing to capture the attraction of this area need to know more than what the Wikipedia style of writing can, and should, allow.

Please re-visit my site keeping in mind the possibility of reinstating the link which was removed.

Thank you in advance for any and all consideration.

Infobox

[edit]

I added an infobox for Kailua and adjusted a few parameters. I'm not sure how to change the coordinates or the correct numbers for the FIPS code & the GNIS. Anyone want to take a crack at it? --travisthurston+ 23:01, 27 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Obama spending two Christmases is notable

[edit]

My referenced addition that Barack Obama has spent Christmas 2008 and 2009 was deleted here If President of the United States spends his winter vacation TWICE it's notable. This has the makings of becoming a "Winter White House." Harry Truman didn't own property in Key West and he's included in articles there. Americasroof (talk) 18:39, 25 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This section is exclusively for natives and residents. I'll not dispute inclusion in a relevant section, but there's no more reason to include him in the natives and residents section than to include him in the demographics section. Nyttend (talk) 05:26, 26 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I added a section. That is a better way to handle it. It will probably become a bigger deal if Obama buys the house. Incidentally none of the other residents are cited. They should be. It should also be noted that probably in most cases the residence is a second home. Americasroof (talk) 15:34, 26 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Jerome Kern

[edit]

Jerome Kern, the famous Broadway composer who wrote "Showboat", wrote a song called "Kailua" about the beach (Ka-lu-a). I think this might be notable enough to be mentioned. 50.202.81.2 (talk) 11:55, 4 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
