Interesting demographic history: 1596 (Hutteroth, p191) 58 Muslim households + 7 Muslim bachelors + 19 Jewish households. 1922 (census Table XI) 172 Muslims, 665 Christians, 33 Druzes. 1931 (census p108) 227 occupied houses: 270 Muslims, 762 Christians, 25 Druzes. 1945 (village stats) 350 Muslims, 1010 Christians, 40 others. Feel free to add. Zerotalk 01:05, 25 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

SWP I 146-7,153,169. Suggests may be Achsaph of Joshua xix 25. Zerotalk 02:04, 25 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Pringle Secular p119 gives Crusader names Cafresi, Cafriasif but says uncertain if any Crusader remains. Ellenblum (cited in article, page xx) says Cafriasim. Excavation report Avi-Yonah, Israel Exploration Journal 9 (1959) 1-12. Quite a lot in Dauphin 638-9 in French (I'll scan it later), incl remains of synagogue and glass factory. Picture of the city

[edit]

Hey, You have a very unfavorable picture of the city in the English version. I would suggest changing it for something like this: http://www.palestineremembered.com/GeoPoints/Kafr_Yasif_1275/Picture_69747.html Thanks, Harold — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.12.199.19 (talk) 04:46, 19 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Agree that it isn't good; we really need one better. Unfortunately, we are not allowed to use the pictures from the Pal.rem-site. If anyone can: please upload better pictures of the place to commons! Huldra (talk) 23:32, 9 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Demographics

[edit]

Does anyone object if I remove the Bristish mandate numbers from the "Demographics"-section to the "Bristish Mandate"-section? Huldra (talk) 23:32, 9 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

No, makes sense. —Al Ameer (talk) 01:20, 10 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
