Removal of newscast schedules?
[edit]User:Amgine is conducting a systematic removal of all local programming information from the television station project. To all editors, please see the discussion at Wikipedia_talk:What_Wikipedia_is_not#Newscast_schedules.2C_redux, where the issue of removing locally originated programming schedules is discussed. Afflilation change
[edit]I am almost certain that the affiliation change did not happen in May 1983. According to a videotape I have, a WDAZ program from June 3, 1983 was from NBC. It must have been later in 1983 that KTHI became affiliated with NBC. --PsychoJason 05:09, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
- I'll ask RickAbbo if he can take a look at the archives and see what's what. -AlexWCovington (talk) 05:18, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
- I'll ask around and see when they actually switched. --RicKAbbo 21:22, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
It appears that the switch from KTHI to KVLY happened on June 5, 1995. I don't know if that helps anybody, but if you have any other questions, feel free to ask. I'm sure this date is accurate, because someone at KVLY emailed me. He was unsure when the switch from ABC to NBC took place. He thought it would have been May 1983. --RicKAbbo 08:08, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
Cleaning Up
[edit]I think some parts of this article are a little hard to read. Like this:
The station had served as the longtime ABC affiliate in Fargo until May, 1983 when it went to the markets longtime NBC affiliates WDAY 6 in Fargo and WDAZ 8 in Grand Forks, thus moving NBC affiliation from WDAY 6 and WDAZ 8 to KVLY 11, and moving ABC affiliation from KVLY 11 to WDAY 6 and WDAZ 8.

DuMont affiliation?
[edit]Someone recently added DuMont affiliation (1953-1955) to this station's infobox. Is this true? A google search doesn't appear to be able to verify this information. Firsfron of Ronchester 22:03, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:KVLY2006.png
[edit]![](http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/f/f7/Nuvola_apps_important.svg/70px-Nuvola_apps_important.svg.png)
Image:KVLY2006.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Adding unreferenced entries of former employees to lists containing BLP material
[edit]Hello, Please do not add unreferenced names as entries to the list of former employees in articles. Including this type of material in articles does not abide by current consensus and its inclusion is strongly discouraged in our policies and guidelines. The rationales are as follows:
- WP:NOT tells us, Wikipedia is "not an indiscriminate collection of information." As that section describes, just because something is true, doesn't necessarily mean the info belongs in Wikipedia.
- As per WP:V, we cannot include information in Wikipedia that is not verifiable and sourced.
- WP:Source list tells us that lists included within articles (including people's names) are subject to the same need for references as any other information in the article.
- Per WP:BLP, we have to be especially careful about including un-sourced info about living persons.
If you look at articles about companies in general, you will not find mention of previous employees, except in those cases where the employee was particularly notable. Even then, the information is not presented just as a list of names, but is incorporated into the text itself (for example, when a company's article talks about the policies a previous CEO had, or when they mention the discovery/invention of a former engineer/researcher). If a preexisting article is already in the encyclopedia for the person you want to add to a list, it's generally regarded as sufficient to support their inclusion in list material in another article. cheers Deconstructhis (talk) 13:02, 8 April 2011 (UTC)

- Can you reword "subsumed" and "encapsulating" if you can? As a non-native person, I find it tough to understand.
- "was originally assigned to Fargo" What kind of Fargo is that? (this is first mentioned) Is that the place Fargo, North Dakota, or Fargo Telecasting Company?
- Linked Fargo on first body mention.
- "North Dakota Television LLC" link LLC
- "KXJB's CBS" Link CBS in the body of the article
- Not a GA requirement, but I feel like linking website at citations would be better. Perhaps link all Grand Forks Herald, The Fargo Forum, Evansville Courier & Press, and The Daily Republican?
- Ref 25 was written as "The Evansville Courier", while ref 26 was "Evansville Press". Can you be consistent and write it as Evansville Courier & Press?
- The citations are to the papers that later merged to form the...wait for it...Evansville Courier & Press and shouldn't be altered. I've linked newspapers on first mention (under any masthead). This sort of issue will occur somewhat often when dealing with older newspapers that later merged.
I think that's all I can find. The article is written very well. 🍕BP!🍕 (🔔) 11:42, 2 February 2025 (UTC)
