IN the first graf, it's noted that KSTP is a clear-channel station. However, KSTP is NOT clear-channel - it's directional westward at night. There's another station at 1500 (in Philadelphia, if memory serves).
I think that assertion is in error. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mitchberg (talk • contribs)
- Yeah I'm confused about this too - the other 1500 is WWWT in Washington, DC. KSTP is listed on the Clear Channel page, and the first paragraph says it is, but the article later states it's not. Mystic Pixel (talk) 06:56, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
- Many clear-channel stations are directional; this has no bearing on the station's status. See http://www.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/audio/amclasses.html and note that KSTP is listed as a class-A station. 121a0012 (talk) 01:41, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
- OK, thanks for clearing that up. Mystic Pixel (talk) 21:59, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
The link for "Chuck Knapp" is wrong. Wikipedia does not currently have "DJ Chuck Knapp" in the system. The "DJ Chuck Knapp" can be found on pavekmuseum.org and wrko.org. Knapp has been involved in "Christian" Radio this past decade, but I remember him from circa '73/'74. He was fairly irreverent and a loose cannon. His morning show was called "Knapp in the Morning" and every so often he'd call that out and occassionally mixed in a "Crap in the Morning" instead. At the end of a promo for some "consumer loan" operation, he 'recommended' that people go down to their office and "get ripped off by the high interest rates". KSTP eventually reined him in by promoting him to program director. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Newidforjohn (talk • contribs) 12:38, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
Notable host: Machine Gun Kelly
[edit]Listed as a Notable Host is "Machine Gun Kelly". Is this the gangster? When did he host on AM1500? Tmagsadie (talk) 11:57, 5 June 2010 (UTC)tmag

KSTP-AM in Summer 1981
[edit]I tuned into KSTP-AM during the summer of 1981. It had become heavily news and talk focused by this time. But they would still play some music. However, the music was wee bit behind the times. 63 KDWB and KS95-FM had far better music selections. I'm sure KSTP-AM was better than this back in the 70's as far as music play. By fall 1982, music was virtually a thing of the past on this station. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dandy883 (talk • contribs) 04:50, 24 September 2019 (UTC)
