Miliband or Thornton?
[edit]Do we know if she intends to use her married name or if she intends to continue being known as Justine Thornton? It would have been useful to have established this before moving the article. TheRetroGuy (talk) 18:37, 27 May 2011 (UTC)
- The Guardian of 28 May 2011 says she will remain Thornton. The article should be moved back until there is proof otherwise. SNALWIBMA ( talk - contribs ) 20:37, 29 May 2011 (UTC)
- Agreed, I wasn't altogether happy with the move. The general rule is that she would take his name, but it's by no means mandatory for her to do so. And professionally she may still wish to be known as Justine Thornton, so I think I'll move it back for now. TheRetroGuy (talk) 21:41, 29 May 2011 (UTC)
She is referred to as Justine Miliband in this BBC pre-election article, which includes a video interview with her. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-31820175 In such an article she would have made sure the was referred to in accordance with her choice: Justine Miliband. For employment-related use she might have chosen to retain the name already in use before her marriage (think of the cost of changing all that headed paper). --- IP
- The Guardian tells us she is 'known professionally' as Justine Thornton. Since the article is mainly about her as a barrister, I think we are safe to keep the article under Thornton. 82.23.156.211 (talk) 16:38, 29 March 2015 (UTC)

"Verifiability and truth"
[edit]Although it can be sourced to some UK papers that Justine Thornton attended Nottingham High School, it isn't actually true. [1], [2]. The original source is the Daily Mail (fmwf.com is part of the Daily Mail group).--Jimbo Wales (talk) 14:07, 31 October 2011 (UTC)
- The Daily Mail is a terrible source to use for anything controversial on a BLP, and since this has now become questionable, it should not be included in this article pending a better source, or a consensus that the Mail source can be trusted. --John (talk) 04:27, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
