Renaming

[edit]

Greetings. I suggest this article should be renamed simply as Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths, describing it as a film trilogy that concludes both the Tomorrowverse and the DC Animated Movie Universe, in response to the new DC Universe. After all, Batman: The Long Halloween is a duology, and both parts are on the same article. Thank you. Fico Puricelli (talk) 01:59, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The Long Halloween is one article because both parts were released in a close proximity to each other in the same year and then together a year later. We don't have a release timeframe for the remaining Part 2 and 3 of Crisis here nor do we know they will be bundled together. This should not happen yet as this is currently known to be a single film with two sequels on the horizon at later dates. Just because WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS is not enough justification to apply this change here. The remaining parts will receive their own articles in a timely manner as more information is revealed, so there is WP:NORUSH in combining and consolidating these when we have hardly any information on the final two parts. Trailblazer101 (talk) 02:37, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Another article that was a two-part movie was Batman: The Dark Knight Returns. In my other comment to @Fico Puricelli: and @Trailblazer101:, the second part is already out on Blu-Ray and DVD from what the scheduled release said. --Rtkat3 (talk) 17:26, 24 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS applies. While I admit it was my intention to combine these under one article in time, I was waiting until further notable information was made available for including all three parts in a singular article. The fact that a duplicate article for the combined three-parts was made without following any procedures or consulting this talk is disappointing, and I have reverted those for not doing so. Once more information is fleshed out for the other two parts, then it should be discussed whether we refactor this into an article dedicated for all three of them. Trailblazer101 (talk) 21:54, 27 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Agree that this article should be moved. Yeoutie (talk) 18:09, 30 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

We must reconsider it again...

[edit]

Greetings. Today, I write you because I realized we must make an exception about this article. Because there was never any chance to publish all three drafts as separate articles, I ask your consent about merge those into one article, please.. I want to revise this draft:

In conclusion, we reconsider this issue. So thank you for understanding. Fico Puricelli (talk) 09:58, 19 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Considering WB has released an official poster confirming they treat it as a trilogy, I would now be in favor of this moving only once Part Three releases and if enough content is added about all three parts and how this is a trilogy to justify WP:GNG. This includes reviews, production information, etc. for all three parts. Trailblazer101 (talk) 15:07, 19 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I will also note that, should this warrant expansion into coverage of the whole trilogy, this article for Part One would be moved to "Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths", not "Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths (film)" as that is an unnecessary disambiguation and inherently incorrect as this is multiple films, not just one. It would also not mean that the draft you linked would be moved, but rather, those contents would be merged into this one to avoid unnecessarily splitting or duplicating content on Part One. I can always make the adequate moves when ready, though it just needs to have more detailed information on the trilogy at large to warrant this happening. Trailblazer101 (talk) 15:49, 19 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The third part of this movie comes out on July 16 next week. @Trailblazer101: and @Fico Puricelli:, I suggest that each of the plots for the three-part movie be placed into their own sub-section like they did for the other movies like Batman: The Dark Knight Returns and Batman: The Long Halloween if it comes to this plan that I support. --Rtkat3 (talk) 21:05, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yup, that can work. We would just need further expansion of the contents and coverage of the other parts to move the draft for all there over onto this one, which I don't think will happen anytime soon. Trailblazer101 (talk) 22:14, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It will take time to do all of that stuff you mentioned @Trailblazer101:. Right now, the drafts for the other two parts are incomplete with the draft to the second part not having a full plot detail. --Rtkat3 (talk) 13:48, 13 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Fico Puricelli: Why did you move the draft's contents over in a cut-and-paste move without first consulting this discussion? Per WP:CUTPASTE, these types of moves are not allowed as they disrupt the editing history and do not provide proper WP:attribution for the contribution history. The draft as it presently stands still has multiple issues with its sourcing (including many unsourced actors), an excessive cast table with some characters not even having actors (so not really proving notable), hardly any reception or real-world content from sources, and no real plot for Part Two and Three. Just because Part Three released does NOT mean the draft was by any means ready for inclusion in the mainspace. There is WP:NORUSH, and I encourage you to take your time to expand this draft before attempting to move again. Should you think it is ready for the mainspace, please ping me or another involved editor in this discussion (as I am watching it), rather than submitting for AfC or moving it like you have already done. I have reverted the moves for the time being until the draft can be fully worked on. Trailblazer101 (talk) 17:53, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I thought we should have immediately move the draft into an article. Besides, I don't know whom I could speak. But in the end, I uploaded the official trilogy poster. As I said, my apologies. Fico Puricelli (talk) 18:02, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No worries, I understand the feeling of wanting to get content put out there sooner rather than later, although these things do take time. It by no means has to be perfect, though there are certain guidelines and policies we must follow with these articles. It's all good. Trailblazer101 (talk) 18:05, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
