New episodes coming in January 2018, but Amazon is not indicating that it's season 3

The latest on the show's Facebook page [1] indicates there will be new episodes of the series available to stream on January 19, but nowhere in the post or their page(s) at Amazon Video indicates it to be season 3. In fact, the way Amazon has the seasons numbered are Season 1, then Season 201 and Season 202 [2]. Not sure how to handle this arrangement, with the article currently saying "third season". This article from TV Line says Season 2B, so will go with that for now (barring another source saying something different). It's somewhat consistent with how Amazon is labeling the seasons of the show right now. MPFitz1968 (talk) 08:16, 5 January 2018 (UTC)

@IJBall: I'd be OK with the "Part 1" and "Part 2" for season 2. Those were released in two separate groups of episodes, and if I remember right, they represent two different stories (I remember the trio dealing with Chuck in the part 1; in part 2, which I'm fuzzy about and may have to rewatch, they were dealing with finding the trio who guarded the magic cookbook way before Kelly's grandma, Mama P and Gina Silvers.) Just Add Magic: Mystery City

I just reverted this set of edits, inserting information about the spinoff series Just Add Magic: Mystery City. Amazon Prime has that series as a separate entity, but notes it as a "spinoff" of this one. Mystery City is not season 4 of this series, so it shouldn't be indicated as such here. Further discussion may be needed about what to do with Mystery City, whether to start a new article on it, or extend this article. MPFitz1968 (talk) 23:42, 25 January 2020 (UTC)

I think we should add it as a new section here, possibly with its own infobox since the cast is different. I had thought of creating its own article but the show has very little secondary source coverage... and the way the season ended, it feels like they're not planning another season. That means, the spinoff article would have very little content. We can just have "Just Add Magic: Mystery City" redirect to that section. If they mysteriously get another season and/or more coverage, we can then spinoff the section to its own article. Starforce¹³ 00:09, 26 January 2020 (UTC)

@Tbiw: This is something you could do yourself (article creation for each actor, I'm assuming you're asking about), if you can find sufficient, reliable sources for all of the actors that demonstrate their notability per WP:NACTOR or WP:BASIC. MPFitz1968 (talk) 23:07, 8 June 2020 (UTC)

@Tbiw: Help:Your first article may be able to guide you, which includes an Article Wizard. From that, you can create drafts of articles for the actors. When your draft is ready, you can have it reviewed but it will take some time. Remember that anyone/anything in Wikipedia must be notable and you must demonstrate that by citing independent, reliable sources in the draft. Also refer to the notability guidelines, including NACTOR and BASIC that I mentioned in my first reply.

Another alternative, which would be quicker to show up in article space but isn't the recommended way (keep in mind what I said about notability, sources, etc. above), is to go back to your edit in the article and click on any of the red links you put in. This will bring up the editing window to create the article for the actor you selected. MPFitz1968 (talk) 15:33, 9 June 2020 (UTC)

@Tbiw: I just noticed there is a page in draft space for Aubrey Miller, at Draft:Aubrey Miller (she has also been credited as Aubrey K. Miller, though not on Just Add Magic, or two other series she's appeared in - Austin & Ally and Sam & Cat ... it's debatable whether it should be renamed that). If you want, you can contribute to that draft. It currently contains no sources and is only one or two sentences total.

MOS:TVPLOT

Quoting from the guideline:

For main series articles, plot summaries of no more than 200 words per episode should ideally be presented in a table using {{Episode table}} and {{Episode list}} (such as State of Affairs). If appropriate, these articles could instead include a prose plot summary of no more than 500 words per season (such as Scouted) instead of an episode table, but an article should not have both an episode table and a prose summary. If the plot summaries are moved to a separate list of episodes (such as with The Blacklist) or to individual season articles (such as with Monk), then the plot summary at the series article should be replaced with a simple overview or premise section that allocates around 100 words per season (such as a logline for each season in non-copyrighted language). (emphasis changes mine)

What I'm seeing in the article is in violation of the guideline by having both a plot summary and individual episode summaries. I'm having thoughts of moving the episode tables to their own LoE article, with there being plenty of write-up for the individual episodes. One wrinkle, however, is the Mystery City spinoff, which we haven't completely decided how to handle. But even if we move the JAM episode list to its own place, the plot summary here, per guideline, should be replaced with a premise (and condensed to 100 words per season). Thoughts?
