Really? 20 footnotes trying to show that the company has sponsored a festival? Kirschkuchen (talk) 12:41, 6 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

LAS Merger

There was no objection to the merger, so it was carried out on 24 June 2011 Gk007 (talk) 11:22, 24 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I am proposing to merge The Linux Action Show! with Jupiter Broadcasting. I do not feel that the article is long enough to be an independent article and can see no reason why it should not be merged. Jupiter Broadcasting will remain. If no one has any objections I will merge the articles this week... Thanks, Gk007 (talk) 17:28, 19 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Expansion of the "Inactive and Discontinued Shows" section

[edit]

This bit needs more info, we can't really have a whole section with just "Chris and John" as its content... I don't know enough about these shows.... Gk007 (talk) 11:33, 1 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Jupiter at Nite (211 shows) (archive here: http://www.jupiterbroadcasting.com/show/nite/) : June 11, 2010 - Sept 8, 2011 - Starred Chris and Jeremy - Shows typically ran 1/2 hour. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Beyere (talkcontribs) 05:33, 13 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

Should we really list all of these separately? I think it dilutes the links to the main pages and will just make it confusing for users looking to find out more after having read the page. Especially as they are all (largely) one click away from the main site's front page. 81.155.137.201 (talk) 09:05, 26 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Notability

[edit]

I'm marking this article for notability. Two out of three links points to their own website, the third to some other side that isn't mentioned anywhere on Wikipedia aside from this very article. Furthermore, upon searching for notable mentions of "Jupiter Broadcasting" in independent sources, I only ran across a large number of domains owned or parked by the owner of the site himself, as well as a wide array of registrations on social media sites, such as Reddit, Tumblr, Flickr, etc. I thus cannot confirm in good faith that it is notable. Please read Wikipedia:Notability (web) and see if you can confirm that this article meets the mentioned criteria. If it does not, please nominate for deletion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.227.151.6 (talk) 18:42, 12 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Not necessarily disagreeing, just pointing out:
* They came fourth (just after Richard Stallman) in the Linux Journal Readers' Choice Awards 2013 for Best Linux/OSS Advocate/Evangelist
* They sponsored LinuxFest Northwest 2014
* Some news about the recent rebranding. (maybe not the best example)
The article defiantly needs some work, I think it just needs more history instead of lists though. I don't nominate this page for deletion.

I've been passed a few more links:
These two are blogs - see WP:BLOGS:
* The Linux Action Show and LINUX Unplugged mentioned on everydaylinuxuser.com
* "Howto Linux" announcement on libregeek.org
These two are a bit better - see WP:NEWSBLOG:
* The Linux Action Show mentioned on linuxlinks.com
* LINUX Unplugged announcement on ostatic.com
Probably the best ones - from SolydXK:
* The Linux Action Shows review of SolydXK
* LINUX Unplugged talk with the developers

Another, from Michael Larabel of Phoronix:

I have added some sources from Lunduke.com, a link to the BSD Now Website, and to a reddit link.

I've just added info to, updated and added some citations from the above discussion. I think that although additional citations are still needed, it has been demonstrated that the subject meets WP:WEB. If there are no objections, I think that the Notability template should be replaced with the Refimprove template. Aluxosm (talk) 21:54, 13 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I've replaced Template:Notability with Template:Refimprove as it has been over two weeks without any objections. Aluxosm (talk) 10:47, 28 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Live stream content

[edit]

I think the statement under "Transmission technology" needs an update, I haven't seen anything other than live shows or re-runs on the stream for ages. Either way, it could definitely use a citation. Aluxosm (talk) 19:19, 11 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The music is not Creative Commons licensed. https://www.ronaldjenkees.com/licensing/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 19kestier (talkcontribs) 16:04, 10 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The statement refers to to Creative Commons licensed music being played before and after shows on the the livestream, not the music in the show. I take it you haven't heard any of this lately either then? Aluxosm (talk) 13:29, 12 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
