Talk:Junco Partner

This page seems to be a computer-assisted translation from a non-English language. I say this because it has many missing or incorrect prepositions and tense disagreements, among other odd things.

I've begun to clean it up, but others can also pitch in, eh?

In the last few days/hours/edits I tried to clean it up as much as possible. The article has been copied from http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Junco_Partner and probably translated from Spanish with a machine translation application. –pjoef (talkcontribs) 08:44, 10 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The same song?

[edit]

'Partner' may have been inspired by 'Blues', but they're completely different songs. Different lyrics, different melody, different rhythm, and you can't even sing the lyrics of one to the tune of the other. In my book that's two different songs. --Deke42 (talk) 02:35, 3 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I just realized that yesterday when I was listening to Jack Dupree (you know 'original research'). Someone was confused by the similar titles. 'Junker's Blues' is okay, but 'Junco Partner' is something special. These should be separated, probably with a 'not to be confused with' xref both ways. Rename / split page

[edit]

No idea why they got mixed up, but people looking for Junker's Blues won't be looking for Junko Partner. As s.o. pointed out above they're different. 99.11.160.111 (talk) 13:16, 28 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

These comments are correct - so, belatedly, I've split the article into two - this one and "Junker's Blues". The problem is that neither article is properly referenced. I don't know, for example, if Shad did actually use "Junker's Blues" as the basis for "Junco Partner". That seems unlikely, because Dr. John is quoted in relation to the James Waynes version as saying that it was already an established "traditional" song. Any references that anyone can add will be very gratefully received. Ghmyrtle (talk) 16:01, 21 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Videos

[edit]

Why so many videos? George8211what did I break now? 20:46, 22 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The simple answer is that they were all added here, and no-one removed them. I've now done so, per WP:YT and the lack of any info on their copyright status or encyclopedic merit. Ghmyrtle (talk) 19:16, 23 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Many more versions

[edit]

This article lists fewer than half of the recordings of this (great) tune that are listed here. Add more versions to the article, to the degree they are notable? Sullidav (talk) 04:20, 22 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
