Fair use rationale for Image:JulieDriscoll Open.jpg
[edit]Image:JulieDriscoll Open.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Julie Driscoll → Julie Tippetts – Julie Tippetts is her current real name, changed from Driscoll by her marriage. For decades already. E-Kartoffel (talk) 10:57, 11 August 2011 (UTC)
- Allmusic still calls her "Driscoll", as do most of the external links. (And by the way, this article seems painfully short on actual references.) Normally I would agree with following a living person's preferred nomenclature, but precedent at Talk:Shirley Temple requires us to use the most common and recognized form of the name. - Oppose Why does (and can) Wikipedia have an article on this person? Because she has gained fame and so reliable sources have written about her. How do they identify her? By the name she is famous under. Why would anyone search for this person in an encyclopedia? Because she is well known. How do the people who would search our her article know her by? Same thing. So what would those searchers expect the article title to be and would be surprised if it was not at? The name they know her by. We title articles by the common name because this addresses a fundamental nature of the topic and why it is encyclopedic. This is no different than John Wayne being at that title and not at Marion Mitchell Morrison. Of course, we need to look and see if it's true that her notoriety remains at the other name, but here, it is. Limiting a Google Books search to the last five years, there are 78 unique results for <"Julie Driscoll" -wikipedia -"books llc"> and a look at the results shows the sources are about this person. A search of the same but also of tippetts shows only 8 results (indicating few sources even bother to say words to the effect "née tippets") and if you look you'll see four of them don't even use her name at all, the result arising from inclusion of her husband, Kieth Tippetts' name. There's only 6 result searching for Julie Tippetts in quotes. A Google News Archive search shows a similar disparity.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 06:14, 18 August 2011 (UTC)

Acting
[edit]I was just listening to a BBC interview with Viv Albertine and she cited Julie Driscoll's appearance in a BBC Play ' The Season of the Witch'. I am well familiar with the tune, but never knew about the play, perhaps worth a mention. More info: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0066347/
