Best Producer?

[edit]

Is it accurate to say that someone is nominated for producing a film? The film itself, not the producer(s), is nominated for Best Picture. ForDorothy 14:27, 9 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's a fine point. It's producer-people who get the kudos of the statuette on their mantels, and nobody in Hollywood history knew how to exploit that better than Julia.
On your edit to the main article -- another fine point. Her actual credit on those productions was Producer, not Co-producer. In the logic of Hollywood, being one of three producers does not necessarily make you a co-producer. But I'm not inclined to revert.

Yesterday this user removed "Academy award-winning" from the lead of this article, justifying his edit as removing a "peacock term." In discussion on his user page he further stated that the term gives her "unnecessary status." I protest this edit and I seek consensus to restore the term. --El Ingles (talk) 19:25, 18 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Done. I suppose Meryl Streep and Paul Newman are exceptions, then? Or are you going to get mean with them too? --El Ingles (talk) 22:44, 18 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see "award-winning" in their lede sentences...BOVINEBOY2008 :) 23:54, 18 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
