[edit]Julia`s writing a new comedy show sky atlantic aswell mind. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 31.109.243.18 (talk) 23:53, 14 April 2012 (UTC)
Until a source can be found for Julia's love life, it is pure conjecture. I'm editing it out.
- Especially since I thought she said she is a lesbian here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/nightynight/interviews/

Full name
[edit]What does the L stand for in "JULIA CHARLOTTE L"? Her FreeBMD entry here does not say. Likewise her entry at Companies House: here Martinevans123 (talk) 13:10, 6 November 2021 (UTC)
- Have updated FreeBMD link. Mother's name Henstridge. Martinevans123 (talk) 08:39, 20 May 2024 (UTC)
- This source in The Guardian says "Born in Bath in 1966, she studied drama at York University...". Martinevans123 (talk) 08:42, 20 May 2024 (UTC)
Both BFI, recently added as a source, and The Guardian give birthplace as Bath, Somerset. But these do not tally with FreeBMD which says Lambeth (see above)? Which is correct? Martinevans123 (talk) 08:39, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Martin. Sorry, only saw your note after my earlier updates and then got notified re talk page updates. I have done my best with what secondary sources are available. We cannot use FreeBMD per WP:BLPPRIMARY, whatever conclusions we may draw. However remote, there are other possibilities, such as a change of name at some time since her birth, and we cannot do WP:OR or WP:SYNTH.
- Sorry I clobbered your edit, but I added a few other changes, and a footnote, and got rid of WP:BAREURLS. Laterthanyouthink (talk) 09:45, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
- No worries. I think that's the best we can do at the moment. Birth pace of Lambeth is not inconsistent with growing up in Surrey. Personally, I can't imagine that the info at FreeBMD is wrong (or that it's really WP:PRIMARY), but never mind. Thanks. Martinevans123 (talk) 09:54, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
- p.s. British Comedy Guide also has her born on 25 August 1966. Martinevans123 (talk) 10:05, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
- FreeBMD is definitely WP:BLPPRIMARY (birth registrations are official records, a primary source), and also WP:DOB: "Wikipedia includes full names and dates of birth that have been widely published by reliable sources, or by sources linked to the subject such that it may reasonably be inferred that the subject does not object to the details being made public... The standard for inclusion of personal information of living persons is higher than mere existence of a reliable source that could be verified."
- The British Comedy Guide is probably okay to use as a source though. Ideally we should have more than one secondary source, but there are many examples that don't and I won't object if you want to use that one. Laterthanyouthink (talk) 23:05, 6 December 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, the original GEO birth registers are WP:PRIMARY. But the records at FreeBMD are transcribed very carefully and so are "edited". Some have postems, added by transcribers, confirm the identity of notable subjects. I'd certainly see FreeBMD as reliable. Whether it's "widely published" is debatable, but it's free for anyone to search 24/7. But yes, that "the subject does not object to the details being made public" may be a stumbling point. But if information is in the public domain, I'm not sure how any personal objections are valid. We can add British Comedy Guide anyway. Martinevans123 (talk) 09:14, 7 December 2024 (UTC)
