Operatic debut?

[edit]

There seem to be two views on the opera in which Gayarre made his operatic debut (Varese, 1869). The Concise Oxford Dictionary of Opera, 3rd edition, says that it was in I lombardi all prima crociata. However, the 2nd edition says that it was in L'elisir d'amore, as do the 1996 biography of Gayarre by Óscar J. Muñoz Salvoch, Julián Gayarre, como el de casa ninguno, and Gayarre's obituary in La Gazzetta di Parma, January 4, 1890. For now I've opted for L'elisir d'amore.Voceditenore 14:40, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop introducing ungrammatical English into the lead paragraph. The correct English expression is "of his day" not "of his days". It is the same expression used in the reference given for the statement. Thanks Voceditenore (talk) 22:17, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
