Family
[edit]Should not Judy's maiden name be listed as Wasylycia since neither she, nor her husband, became Wasylycia-Leis until after their marriage.
QUOTE: I want to personally reflect for a moment since my roots with the Mennonite community run deep. I was raised in a Mennonite community in the Waterloo county area of Ontario. I went to school with old order Mennonites where we had many opportunities for interaction. I am also married to a Mennonite. The Leis portion of my name is Amish Mennonite and I carry it very proudly along with the traditions of the community [1]. 19:14, 14 March 2008 (UTC)~ Judy Wasylycia-Leis also mentioned today during Question Period that her father met her mother during the liberation of Holland - would this make Judy W-L a Canadian of Dutch descent?
QUOTE:In fact I want the House to know that if it were not for my father entering World War II and putting his own life on the line, I would not be here today. I have a very valiant father. He took part in World War II, as a member of the Governor General's Horse Guards. He came up through Italy into Holland and there he met my mother during the liberation of Holland. As a result, I am here and so are five other kids. We are very grateful for the valour of my father and others like him.
