@Seaweed: The judoka was DQ'ed, but AFTER the contest itself which ended in a 11s1–00s1 result. Sources:[1][2][3][4][5] Please, do not change the result again. You may mention the DQ in a sourced note, if you wish. CLalgo (talk) 14:11, 18 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I can see you're an experienced editor, but just to you let you know I don't find your comment civil. As you know we work together on Wikiepdia, so I don't need your permission to make edits. But that's not important. With Faizad, there must be a correct way to approach this sitation. We know that the actual contest between Faizad and Borchashvili took place July 30th and that Borchashvili won. But it's also true that Faizad was subsequently disqualified from the tournament on August 3rd. The official reports (in particular the draw sheet) state that fact and readers of Wikipedia must be able to know that Faizad was disqualified. To take an extreme example, it's no different to Ben Johnson in 1988. I agree that the result should show (i.e. "00 Yellow"), but when I tried to add the strikethrough, it didn't work. Which is why I made the edit I did. Maybe there is a correct way to do it? I'm not very good with that type of formatting. Do you know how? Thanks. Seaweed (talk) 17:44, 18 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Seaweed: I'm sorry that my comment was perceived to be uncivil. That wasn't my intention. What do you think about striking Faizad's name and adding an {{efn}} detailing his DQ? CLalgo (talk) 08:34, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for that, glad we've cleared the air. Regarding the formatting, I've just tried using the "efn", but unfortunately it doesn't work. It just becomes blank with no card or number. That's not my area of expertise, I'm afraid. So I've added the strikethrough to his name and added some text at the bottom. Maybe not the tidiest, but hopefully would help any reader understand.
