Possible DYK upon expansion

[edit]

...that Prince Khalid Abdullah of Saudi Arabia was the first Arab racing owner to win the 200-year old Two Thousand Guineas race with his Juddmonte Farms stallions? • Lawrence Cohen 15:56, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Editors with a conflict of interest

[edit]

Juddmonte and Juddmonte Farms have usernames and editing patterns which strongly suggest a conflict of interest and likely paid-editing. The 2nd listed account is blocked. The first one should read the two links in the previous sentence before making any further edits to Wikipedia. In particular, the editor should not edit this article directly, but instead use the {{requested edit}} template to request edits here on this talk page. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 21:44, 19 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Juddmonte FarmsJuddmonte – Juddmonte is the name by which the company is commonly known - see https://juddmonte.com/ or https://britishchampionsseries.com/fixtures/juddmonte-international-stakes/ or https://www.racingpost.com/bloodstock/juddmonte-unveils-exciting-mating-plans-for-blue-blooded-broodmare-band/468764. 195.70.65.199 (talk) 17:06, 4 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Closing comment: I'm knowingly running a risk of supervote here as I think the rationale given may be invalid, appealing only to primary sources, but that the move is well justified for other reasons so have not even investigated. Discuss on my user talk page if you think I have offended! TIA. Andrewa (talk) 23:31, 12 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have a few requested edits, if someone would be able to do this? Firstly, there is a repetition of 'presided over the massive conglomerate Mawarid Holding' in the first paragraph. Then, ARROGATE needs removing as a stallion in the United States under 'Overview', as he died in 2020. In the final paragraph of that section, Mirage Dancer needs adding as the winner of the Metropolitan Handicap. Under 'Awards', Juddmonte has now won 24 Cartier Awards, Enable won Cartier Horse of the Year twice and Top Older Horse twice, and Quadrilateral needs adding as Two-Year-Old Filly of the Year. Under 'trainers' Amanda Perrett, Pascal Bary and David Smaga need removing. Under 'Major wins' Enable needs adding to Eclipse Stakes (2019), Enable's 2020 King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes win needs adding, and Enable's 2019 Yorkshire Oaks win needs adding. Siskin's 2019 win in the Phoenix Stakes needs adding under Ireland. Viadera's 2020 win in the Matriarch Stakes needs adding under USA. There are also some races missing from Enable's record under 'Most successful horses'. I'd be grateful if someone could update this info. Thanks.

I have corrected the poorly written lead, and updated the information about Arrogate. I’m afraid that it’s very difficult to understand what you’re requesting regarding Mirage Dancer. The same applies to all the subsequent details, which use names that few editors are probably familiar with. I suggest you submit a new request in a very clear format, with specific locations for the added phrases and exact wording to be used. When nomenclature is involved, it’s very easy to get it wrong. Ok thanks. Edits as follows -

Final paragraph of 'Overview' should be - A number of homebreds have won major races in both in Flat and National Hunt racing after leaving Juddmonte. These include Wicklow Brave, son of Beat Hollow (Vincent O'Brien County Hurdle, The Punchestown Champion Hurdle and Irish St Leger); Prohibit, son of Oasis Dream (King's Stand Stakes); Brian Boru, son of broodmare Eva Luna (Racing Post Trophy and British St Leger); Powerscourt, son of broodmare Rainbow Lake (Tattersalls Gold Cup and Arlington Millions); Foreteller, son of Dansili (Australian Ranvet Stakes, Makybe Diva Stakes and Underwood Stakes), Harlem, son of Champs Elysees (Australian Cup) and Mirage Dancer, son of Frankel (Metropolitan Handicap).

Under 'Awards' (third paragraph) it should be - To date, Prince Khalid bin Abdullah and Juddmonte horses have won 24 Cartier Racing Award titles, also known as the European Horse of the Year Awards. Wins include Horse of the Year (Frankel (twice), Kingman, and Enable (twice)), Three-Year-Old Colt of the Year (Commander in Chief, Workforce, Frankel and Kingman), Three-Year-Old Filly of the Year (Banks Hill, Enable), Two-Year-Old Colt of the Year (Zafonic, Frankel), Two-Year-Old Filly of the Year (Special Duty, Quadrilateral), Top Older Horse of the Year (Frankel, Noble Mission, Enable (twice)), Top Sprinter of the Year (Oasis Dream) and the Award of Merit.

Under 'Trainers and jockeys' (first paragraph) it should be - Juddmonte's regular trainers in Britain include Roger Charlton, Charlie Hills, John Gosden and Michael Stoute. In 2016, Ralph Beckett and Hugo Palmer became trainers for Juddmonte in Britain following the death of Sir Henry Cecil and the retirement of his wife, Lady Jane Cecil, after a brief but successful career. In 2006, Dermot Weld became a trainer for Juddmonte in Ireland, and Ger Lyons became a Juddmonte trainer in 2018. In France horses are sent to André Fabre, Henri-François Devin and Francis-Henri Graffard. Successful horses on the European scene were often sent late in their three-year-old career to Robert J. Frankel in the U.S. for the bigger purse Grade 1 races. In the 1980s Juddmonte also enjoyed success with Guy Harwood and Jeremy Tree in Britain and with Maurice Zilber in France.

Updates under 'Major wins - Great Britain' - King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes – Dancing Brave (1986), Enable (2017), Enable (2019), Enable (2020) Eclipse Stakes – Dancing Brave (1986), Twice Over (2010), Enable (2019) Yorkshire Oaks – Quiff (2004), Midday (2010), Enable (2017), Enable (2019)

Updates under 'Major wins - Ireland' - Phoenix Stakes – Digamist (1987), Siskin (2019)

Updates under 'Major wins - USA' - Matriarch Stakes – Wandesta (1996), Ryafan (1997), Heat Haze (2003), Intercontinental (2004), Price Tag (2006), Ventura (2009), Viadera (2020)

Updates under 'Most successful horses' - Enable (2017-2020) – Oaks, Irish Oaks, King George & Queen Elizabeth Stakes (three times), Yorkshire Oaks (twice), Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (twice), Breeders' Cup Turf, Eclipse Stakes

Would someone be able to make the updates above? Thanks!
