Kirchner

[edit]

From "Returning home" section:

"Verón he has indicated that he is considering running for president of Estudiantes in the future, a step that has the approval of the current administration and of the fans. He was a decisive factor in the agreement with La Plata city hall to rebuild Estudiantes' historic stadium to modern standards so as to allow its re-opening; journalists routinely cite (though never confirmed officially) that Verón engaged Argentine president Néstor Kirchner in the negotiations, which were stalled by La Plata mayor Julio Alak [1]."

Bursaspor

[edit]

Somebody tried to ruin this article by writing 'bursastor' in some fields. I edited most of it, but the 'youth career' section has yet to be edited, as I am not sure if it was actually Estudiantes de La Plata. Veselin Kanchev (talk) 13:08, 3 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Does there really need to be swearing in this entry?

I have reverted the article to censor the profanitys. KiraChinmoku (T, ¤) 05:37, 5 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You shouldn't have done that. As I mentioned on Kirachinmoku's talk page, it is not our job to censor anyone, so the words should be left in. – PeeJay 08:13, 5 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

He had trouble adapting to the faster pace of the Premiership

[edit]

Always the cliche thing to say, but Veron was excellent during the opening couple of months. He even scored goals at a quicker rate than usual. The team dipped massively after that and Veron seemed to struggle to adapt off the pitch by many accounts. Ferguson suggested he was isolated off the pitch. Either way, adaptation to English football wasn't really the issue. He just couldn't seem to find consistency. Definite questions about whether United knew how to use him, also.

Sounds like you could be talking about Angel Di Maria. – PeeJay 13:49, 6 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

What is a non-UEFA player?

[edit]

Described as the first 'non-UEFA' player to break the transfer record. What does that mean, non-European? Don't want to just change it if this is a widely used term I'm unaware of, but feels like 'UEFA' is being used synonymously with 'Europe' here. 209.35.94.61 (talk) 19:25, 19 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
