[edit]This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... (your reason here) --Icewhiz (talk) 15:20, 6 March 2017 (UTC)
There is already an AFD - with 3 KEEP votes.
Thompson is notable for at least two events that were covered world-wide - fake news in "The Intercept", and bomb threats against Jewish community centers. He was also covered extensively after he left "The Intercept".
There might be a BLPCrime issue regarding the recent bomb threats (there have however been judicial decision in regards to a restraining order vs. his former girlfriend).
However he is definitely notable - he passed a simple goolge-news search. He is also covered significantly in existing [The_Intercept#Juan_Thompson_scandal] - which until the JCC bomb threat has perhaps been a BLP1event.
- Just a note: Regardless of the AfD discussion going on, please note that WP:BLPCRIME does not apply here. It applies only to "relatively unknown people" (AKA non-public figures), something a person running for mayor clearly isn't. -- IsaacSt (talk) 08:07, 7 March 2017 (UTC)
- The seriousness of his mayoral bid is deeply in question - it might have just been a twitter announcement + gofundme page (which raised 25$). However, "The Intercept" incident and his public advocacy might make him a known public person.Icewhiz (talk) 08:13, 7 March 2017 (UTC)
