    Assassination

    [edit]

Just throwing out as more details are to be known, what’s the plan. Will it be linked here to to another article? Coasterghost (talk) 11:21, 7 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I'd say to give it a few more days before adding an article. Allow this to play out a bit more. 2A00:23C4:2401:6D00:F0A2:55B5:1D43:10DA (talk) 12:11, 7 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

    Spanish speaking gunmen

    [edit]

This is in response to this edit: 11:40, 7 July 2021‎ 148.255.71.240 talk‎ 20,469 bytes −35‎ Stating that they were killed by spanish speaking gunmen is wrong without an official statement.

"Attackers had assault rifles; spoke English, Spanish -PM" https://www.reuters.com/world/americas/haitian-president-shot-dead-home-overnight-pm-2021-07-07/ Is reuters an official source? Is reuters "problematic"? Is simply noting a language someone speaks "problematic"? I need to know Im trying to keep my social credit score up to stay off the no fly lists.

    President number

    [edit]

Was he the 40th, 43rd or something else? I can't find any sources saying what president number he was. — Berrely • TalkContribs 12:47, 7 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I think really this article just said "42nd" (changed to "43rd" during a flurry of edit conflicts without explanation) because someone felt like that was the right number. Just like List of heads of state of Haiti said "40th" because someone felt it was the right number. Then there's some sources saying he's 58th! The truth is, he's the nth president of Haiti, where the value of n depends on how you define "president" and how you define "Haiti", plus a few other arbitrary decisions. If there's no official numbering from the Haitian government or some other authoratative source in Haiti, we probably shouldn't give any number at all, even if we could in theory line up a bunch of sources and figure out who has a numerical majority. That seems to be the approach taken at Emmanuel Macron, president of another country where the numbering is complicated. -- Tamzin (she/they) | o toki tawa mi. 21:30, 7 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please restore the image that was just now deleted here .. https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Jovenel_Mo%C3%AFse&diff=1032483549&oldid=1032483078

It relates to the text to the left. (Which the image added in its place does not; it is also a poor image, of people difficult to identify.)

I note that the edit summary did not indicate the deletion, and was therefore less revealing than it might have been.

I don't both images are kept. But deleting the only one of the two that relates to the text is not consistent with wikipedia MOS for images. See MOS:IMAGERELEVANCE and MOS:IMAGELOCATION. Images

    [edit]

The images (other than that in the infobox) should all be the same size. They are not at the moment. --2603:7000:2143:8500:9458:8E90:62D1:98FE (talk) 08:27, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Shouldn't Christian Emmanuel Sanon be mentioned in this article, even if only briefly? 173.88.246.138 (talk) 06:32, 13 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

    Promotional article?

    [edit]

It's a strange article that doesn't mention the PetroCaribe scandal involving the embezzlement of economic aid by the President Jovenel Moïse and his entourage, or the economic and social crisis that the country has experienced under his government. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TheGammols (talkcontribs) 19:09, 9 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
