Continuity error?

[edit]

In this article, it seems that New Directions' existence was threatened simply by being last. But in the pilot, Principal Figgins said they just had to place at regionals in order to survive. Since they placed third, did that simply convince him that glee club didn't have enough reputation, or...what was it exactly? 173.28.115.207 (talk) 21:38, 9 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think by "place" he meant come either first or second, and so be able to progress on to Nationals. Because ND came last they were out of the competition, but you're right, it's not made particularly clear. Frickative 22:11, 9 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Episode Title

[edit]

The title of the episode is "Journey to Regionals" not "Journey". I fixed what I could but I don't have rights to make further changes. look here to verify... http://www.fox.com/glee/recaps/season-1/episode-22.htm

This will also affect this page http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Glee_episodes

Hmmmm was it known under both titles? I'm just looking at the press release and it's called "Journey to Regionals". Same with the FOX website. Yves (talk) 10:02, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Huh, interesting. We had an issue last season where Fox called episode twelve both "Mattress" and "Once Upon a Mattress", and perhaps I'm misremembering, but I think this was a similar deal at the time. In the end, that episode was released on the DVD as "Mattress" which settled things, but Barnes & Noble call this one by both titles which confuses things. Does anyone have a copy of the DVD to verify? Frickative 17:17, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hmmm you seem to have placed the same URL for both links. Did you mean to refer to a specific tab? Maybe I'm not looking hard enough, but both the "Scenes" and "Full Product Details" tab call it "Matress" [sic]. Yves (talk) 20:07, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ohh, sorry, I didn't realise the URL didn't change in different tabs! I meant that under "Scenes" this episode is called "Journey to Regionals", but under "Full Product Details" it's just "Journey". Frickative 20:13, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Oh haha sorry; didn't know that was what you were talking about. Well that certainly is curious. I'm afraid I do not own a copy of the DVD, so I can't verify that. Yves (talk) 20:32, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I own the DVD (I am actually watching it right now), it lists the episode as "Journey to Regionals". Considering that the DVD uses that title, and the official Fox website uses that title, it's official that is the name of the episode and the article should be moved. 96.25.248.210 (talk) 05:01, 29 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Many of the reviews call it "Journey". I believe this may be case where it is known under two titles. Yves (talk) 16:53, 31 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm a little surprised by this and just found this out today myself when I happened to read it on Frickative's talk page! Originally, the episode indeed WAS called simply "Journey" so as not to confuse it with the title of the EP (though "The Power of Madonna" did share the name for both EP and episode). I do remember even on the FOX site seeing only "Journey" and not "Journey to Regionals", and many Wikis supported the more abbreviated title (which are not sources of course, but for posts written after the episode aired posters probably use the abbreviated version regardless). NEwho, FOX must have changed it after the fact before the DVD came out. Talk about making more work for us, huh?
NEwho, I've looked for some of those Wikis. Here's one, another, and finally one more for good measure. The first of these three is dated June 14. It was an episode review. Clearly for an episode review they would have used the full title in the header of the page. Also, on page 1 of the search results leading to this finding, the only result using the full title was an Amazon entry for the album; interestingly, Amazon's description refused to weigh in on this debate from the onset, simply referring to "the episode", not a title. CycloneGU (talk) 23:54, 10 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
ADDENDUM: Barnes and Noble's page selling the second half DVD refers to it as "Journey". This description went up before FOX changed it; obviously, we have to use what the official site uses, but this proves the original title. CycloneGU (talk) 00:01, 11 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You're really writing fine articles for these episodes :) All I can really do for this one is quick pass it! Rcej (Robert) - talk 05:06, 20 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ach, I think I'm even later to this review than I was to "Funk" - I don't know why I keep missing them lately! Probably a good job it's all over for now, heh. But as ever, thank you very much for your review, and it's been great working with you :) I'm hopefully going to finish off Glee (season 1) and try for a Good Topic, and then it's on to season two!
