Rewritten for WP:FRINGE and to remove all the stuff cited to Newman. Not really clear the subject is notable. Article needs watched closely since created by editor with a vested interest in the perpetual motion machine. Pinkbeast (talk) 17:45, 13 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Pinkbeast: Thank you very much for rewriting it. At the time when I moved the article to the proper namespace, I only glanced over the referencing and didn't realize how much of it was blatant conspiracy theory sourced to Newman himself. As for notability, at one point Joseph Newman (inventor) existed, but was moved to Newman's energy machine. The few editors in the deletion discussion from 2006 seemed to lean towards keeping his article, but admittedly Wikipedia was a different place back then with lower standards. (At one point his article was called Joseph Newman (charlatan)) Therefore, it might be worth taking it to Articles for Deletion if notability independent from his energy machine can't be established. BsMurphy has also admitted a conflict of interest so I have left a notice on their talk page. Opencooper (talk) 23:45, 13 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I would support deletion with the merge of any salient details into Newman's energy machine (which perhaps should move to Newman's perpetual motion machine). Pinkbeast (talk) 20:32, 15 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Proposing deletion

[edit]

I'm proposing deletion of this article. Newman is clearly only notable for his "energy machine", and even that is pretty marginal. If there's an objection, we can consider a merger, but there's really nothing here particularly notable.KaturianKaturian 23:03, 2 March 2016 (UTC)

I removed the prod on the thought that a merger is more appropriate, if for no other reason that some basic biographical info, at least, would be a helpful addition to the article about the machine. Incidentally, I also note that he was the subject of a 2015 documentary reviewed in The Hollywood Reporter. [1] --Arxiloxos (talk) 01:04, 3 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I think a merge-and-redirect could work well. Pinkbeast (talk) 18:39, 3 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
